If you're having issues with wireless CarPlay I suggest plugging in phone to the USB port for a few minutes and then unplugging. I've found this resolves whatever handshake issue there is sometimes.

13 Pro Max working fine. Seems like the distance to destination used to show on the IP for Apple Maps, but doesn’t anymore… turn-by-turn directions do still appear.

Yeah, I also noticed the missing distance to destination and time to destination. I wasn’t sure if it was an iOS 16 thing or if it relates to the MME connection that provides the EV features in Maps. I’ve realized I really like having those two numbers on the screen so for now I’ve switched back to Waze, which is a bummer because Apple Maps is the best looking interface IMHO, and it integrates with the cluster.

For CarPlay in general, everything was rock solid before 16 and for a couple days after 16. But the first time both my wife and I were in the car together with our iphones, mine (as driver and marked as “preferred”) would not connect through repeated attempts. This persisted through multiple drives together but it would work fine when it was only me. I finally got it working by “forgetting” the car on the phone side and then reconnecting.

seems slower and harder to connect and get going than before when I just get into the ME that has been asleep for a while.

I've been experiencing really erratic Maps and Music connectivity. iPhone 14 Pro Max with iOS 16.

Don’t use waze, but no problem with Maps, and I’ve been on iOS 16 since Developer Preview 1 and on iPhone 13 and iPhone 14.

I’d suggest hard rebooting the phone (tap volume up, tap volume down, and then press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo) and reboot Sync (push the volume down switch and hold it while pressing the right seek button and hold it until you see the Ford logo appear). I’m guessing that will fix you up.

Now on iOS 16.1.2 and PowerUp 3.6.1. CarPlay has become messy, especially with more than one phone in or near the car. Despite numerous reboots, there’s still no remaining distance displayed on the IP from Apple Maps and, because I guess it’s assumed that the IP should display remaining distance, no remaining distance displayed on the map itself. Annoying. Anyone seeing anything different?

Same here. Just got back from a trip and noticed the same thing. At one stop, I rebooted Sync and the remaining mileage distance showed up again on CarPlay for the rest of the drive home. However, the next day it disappeared again no matter how many times I rebooted. Could be an Apple glitch as well. When I drive today, I won’t connect to CarPlay but still use App Maps on my phone and see if the remaining mileage is showing.

16.1.2 installed on Thursday (for me). I've only driven the MME once since then and it was an utter disaster CarPlay and PAAK wise. Connection issues, then a "CarPlay is disabled on your phone" type message (it wasn't) etc. I'm going with, "This is an Apple Issue" on this one.

Oddly enough, PAAK has been fine for me (knock on wood). CarPlay is now a mess though. Takes FOREVER to load at times. Seems to be fine once it finally shows up on the display, except for the remaining distance bug.

Is there an Apple rep on the forum? ?

My car is in the advanced analytics program atm. Ford knows quite literally everything it's doing, what the car thinks I'm doing, what I'm doing, and probably what I'm thinking. They're well aware of what happened I'd guess.

You can report bugs to Apple at this link: https://www.apple.com/feedback
There isn't a link to CarPlay, so I'd submit it to Maps. I know these get logged and send to the proper engineering teams. You won't get a reply, but it's the best way to give Apple feedback.

I'm hopeful my Mach-e will arrive in the next two weeks. I'll report any CarPlay bugs as well.

Good to know. I’ll fill out the form.

Sure enough, same results even when not connected to the car. I rebooted my phone, still no mileage. Then out of the blue, it started showing up again. ?‍♂

On one of our older that’s not up to date, Maps works correctly every time. So definitely an Apple bug.
