My car is in the advanced analytics program atm. Ford knows quite literally everything it's doing, what the car thinks I'm doing, what I'm doing, and probably what I'm thinking. They're well aware of what happened I'd guess.
Are you getting the big black Apple CarPlay map screen void when you maximize the screen, then shrink it back? That’s rather annoying as well.

I haven’t had that issue. If I can get CarPlay to work, it works. Usually though it won’t pair with my phone at all. Occasionally it will pop up a ā€œCarPlay is disabled on your phoneā€ message. It is in fact not disabled and cycling the switch does nothing. Other things that don’t work: rebooting sync, pressing the connect button on my phone’s name on the phone list, rebooting the phone, turning off Bluetooth and trying again, turning off WiFi and trying again. And various combinations thereof.

So far the best fix is to swear at it, resign yourself to having to listen to really bad hip hop, rap, or some other music you don’t really understand, forever on FM radio, turn the car off and go do something else. It works when you get back. Skip the first step though and it doesn’t work. :p

The car had actually started behaving pretty well CarPlay wise until 16.1.2. I’m personally convinced that this is primarily an Apple problem with their software. That update introduced a few bugs to the phone as well.

On the other hand, correlation does not equal causation.

Anyone have any luck getting distance to destination to appear on the cluster with Apple Maps? Still nothing with Power Up 4.1.3 and iOS 16.3.1.

Mine is a bit slow to boot into carplay wireless which is normal and currently on 16.3.1 right now (30 seconds?) but still works well with no noticeable drop outs of lossless tunes. When you plug it into USBC (hardwired) it works no problems and boots instantly? Having that wire in the console has to be better than really bad hip hop. Problem blaming M$ or Apple is the normal procedure is the app/hardware needs to play nice with the OS.

I noticed my apple maps not updating position yesterday. Ford nav maps were fine. Did not check Waze. Edited to add I connect to Carplay wirelessly while on charger. Will try connecting with my phone in a different location next time I am out.
