I've never been able to get wireless car play to work on my car.... I carry two phones anyway (work/personal) and can't have 2 phones active, so it kinda doesn't matter for me.

With my iPhone 12, when I plugged in via USB, carplay worked fine.

With my iPhone 15, it charges fine with the new USB-C adapter, but it doesnt seem to pick up for car play....

Are my charging wires ghetto and non-standard and not passing data... or is there some sort of an issue?

The former, your wires be ghetto. A lot of people are having this problem on all model cars. I went through 3 USB C cables I had on hand in my wife's VW Atlas to find a working one.

I didn't even plug mine in once on my Mach E. I just connected it via BT and wireless CarPlay worked right away. Something wrong with your APIM.

Probably bad cable. USB-C cables can be charging only with no data at all. There was a good article about it today on Macworld

I just picked up the 15 Pro Max. Here's my advice:
Use the Apple cable that came with your phone, and plug it into the top USB-C port on the MME.
Make sure your phone is paired by Bluetooth.
Say Yes if the MME offers to pair, of course.
Make sure you have Wireless Carplay enabled in the phone settings. Settings>General>Carplay>Mustang Mach-E>Carplay Enable. Even though it doesn't say wireless carplay, I have determined that this is so.

If none of this works, delete the MME Bluetooth pairing and try again.

Hmm... so I had to "disable" CarPlay on my phone because it'd try to wirelessly connect every time and give me an error message on the car which was obnoxious.

I'll try with the apple cable. I actually didnt realize that was USB-C! I thought it was MicroUSB!

Tried usb c to usb c and worked fine.

Guess it’s just a bad cable and apple causing issues !
