iPhone users: Do you still get notified of a new notification when on carplay?

Did you ever figure out the message notifications. My CarPlay mutes my watch and phone and will not announce any text notifications.
I’ve turned off driving focus, turned on announce notifications in CarPlay- nothing works.

i see the 1 pop up on the message icon but no banner and zero sounds.
Texts come through perfectly on Bluetooth only just nothing with CarPlay

This is normal expected behavior. I’m talking about other notifications from any other app.

“Any other app” is the key phrase there. Only apps that have CarPlay entitlements can put up notifications on the CarPlay screen. If the developer didn’t code it for CarPlay, the notification won’t appear.

Figured out my issue with texts not announcing or popping up. In IOS, each CarPlay compatible app has its own settings under notifications. For whatever reason my messages had “show in CarPlay” disabled under notifications. Even with announcing turned on you would get nothing.
They really should put all the CarPlay settings in one location.
