Yeah I get mostly compliments, think insults are more overblown.

Lol means just as your research shows. Excitement! Nerd alert - in the old days comic books could not say “Oh My God” so the writers would use Stars and Garters instead;)

Only slights I've heard from anyone were from those who haven't seen it. Anyone who has seen it in person has asked "what car is that?" or "love that new mustang, can I look inside?" I've had to be careful with a few people who were almost pushy to get in my car, lol.

I have been given nothing but compliments. Only one person seemed to not like it because it was "electric". Critized electrical cars, not directly my car, in that coal was still used to make the power so I was actually contributing to more power consumption and pollution. Also, that slave labor is used to make lithium and the old lithium batteries (when they are dead) are polluting the environment. This person was not a tree hugger but was the polar opposite and LOVED ICE vehicles with really big motors. Confused me enough that I remembered the conversation. Most of the time, I just tune it out....like voice of peanuts parents....wah wah wah wah wah wah...

Never heard "stars and garters" before. I'm familiar with "oh my stars and candy bars," which fills the same spot, I suppose.

I grew up in Arkansas, and am well familiar with "Bless your heart" for sure.

I don't think I've heard anyone refer to it as a Mach e in conversation, now that I think about it. Always a "Mustang" as I recall. Interesting, now I think about it.

I'm fixing to have to think about that.

only a matter of time until a middle man business pops up to upcycle old EV batteries for grid storage.
Already a few out there, but an issue they are having, along with the companies trying to create replacement cell packs (instead of replacing a whole battery pack, which is rarely needed), is that batteries don't die in these vehicles as readily as the oil lobby would like everyone to believe. There are 2-300,000 mile Teslas out there on their original packs, with maybe a couple replaced cells if that, and still around 90% battery capacity. And that is with older Teslas and battery management systems.

There are plenty of articles of even vehicles like the hybrid Escapes still rolling around NYC that were built over a decade ago. Nothing is without failure, but the battery packs are so far showing themselves to be as reliable, if not more so, than their ICE counterparts.

Glad to hear you are getting good comments. The car definitely gets some looks when out and about when I take it compared to when I am just driving in the F-150.

On the nose with this.

I honestly think we are in a rare window of BEV design. When lighter and cheaper cells do come into play we will see lighter and cheaper cars. Less attention will be paid to impact protection as the fire risk will mitigate and manufacturers will want to minimize weight and and skimp on thermal management if they know they can get away with it. After watching Munroe Lives tear down of the MME and Bolt I really think the MME is a nice platform.

I believe there are already companies that are getting the batteries out of old Tesla's and Priusesssss, and reconditioning them for sale. I have a Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and my batteries are getting weak at the 10 plus year mark. I found a few companies that I can get reconditioned replacements and they want the old ones back as cores. For me, not worth it since the capital cost does not offset the gas savings, now that it is a secondary car that gets driven once a week for a few miles. I am not sure I would do a replacement on the MME, after about 10 years. Not worth the say $15K to $20K for replacement batteries when that is a good down on a new BEV with better features, and more range.
