I noticed around lunch today something off in the app. Got home this afternoon and my range didn't reflect my return trip from work. Started a charge and that wasn't reflected either. I needed to crank the target charge to 100 for a trip tomorrow and had to do it from the car, app never connects.

Azure is the cloud, aka someone else's computer

The outage is over according to the Azure service dashboard and media reports. Checking “down detector.com” shows outage reports for “ford.com” at the same time as the overall Azure issue. So, probably related.

FYI Azure is reported to be back to normal now.

Between the Amazon AWS outage last week and the Microsoft Azure outage yesterday, it should be a wake-up call about how much of our digital lives depend on cloud services and the disruption they can cause when they fail.

My car still hasn't updated ford.com or the app since lunchtime yesterday.
Is anyone else having these problems?

What happens if you open vehicle location on Fordpass and press the refresh button in the upper right corner and then wait about 10 seconds?

That is why I replaced my JuiceBox circuit boards with OpenEVSE, which are local interface only.

I've always left that location permission off but enabled it just now to test. Which is to say, I don't know how it would normally act. Initially it shows the car at work one day ago. Refreshing fails, until it finally just told me Refresh limit reached. Try again later.

This is so typical of Microsoft. I witnessed the debauchery of their practices while I was in their "maximum security" BOS (Business On-Line Services) "cage". It was bad joke. Securitas are the guys who made this problem. You people have no idea whats going on in these data centers, but I do, because I've been deep inside the belly of the Microsoft beast and lived to tell the tale.

I'm bit-banging a Grizzl-E via HomeAssistant to keep my demand kW in check. Here the oven was on making dinner and you can see it turned the charger down

First - Restart your phone and try again. This is the most common problem with Ford App issues.

Second - Sign on to your Ford.com account and see if the car is updated there. If not, go to the car and select the Connectivity menu on the left. It should indicate a cellular and/or WIFI connection down by the HotSpot section. Hotspot does not need to be active for this.
  • If it shows connected, try turning off all the connected services and turning them back on.
  • If you are not connected, it might mean your modem is hung. You can reset this by pulling the Gateway fuse and replacing it 5 minutes later. On mine, it is fuse 21 in the body control module fuse box under the passenger dash. It is rare that you would need to do this, but common enough that there is a process. In 3 years, I've had to do this once on my MME.

It has started working a few hours ago. Every time I checked ford.com it was stuck same as the app.
I did notice the header is different on ford.com now, so maybe there were some backend updates? Or maybe it's in fallback mode and prioritizing the 300MB video of people frolicking in their 2 door bronco instead of showing me the useful information i was actually there for.
They're also pounding me with survey requests now.
