I’ve left one side in so I can drop milk jugs etc. it’s my fridge/freezer section from the supermarket. Useful with cross border shopping.
I use it the milk an other liquids as I'm concerned if I put it in the back or the floor and it tips over and spills it's a major problem. I've heard the only way to get rid of the spoiled milk smell is to trade the car in. If it leaks in the frunk, I can just hose it out and down the drain hole.

What is the rear beauty cover, and what under hood cover did you remove?
under the hood, there are three pieces of the 'beauty cover' surrounding the Frunk tub. left, right, and rear. I removed the rear piece, and left it out.... in part because I kinda like to be able to see the top of the motor/dc-dc converter and fluid level in the reservoir.

I also removed the plastic piece from the underside of the hood... just extra plastic.

The functional modification to the left side 'beauty cover' is to use a 1-7/8" hole saw and cut 3 holes: over the 12v+, 12v-, and to gain access to the HV disconnect without needing to pull off the beauty cover. Holes can then be neatly plugged with standard 50mm electrical caps.

I debated removing both left and right covers completely, but I left them in to help seal up the hood closure from the elements.

the problem is then there is a puddle of spoiled milk on top of the belly pan, attracting bugs, mice, etc.

Milk is the main thing in there for me. I love the easy to wash down beer hall approach in the frunk. I’m waiting to get checked at the border some day and see if they think to look up front.

I didn't even get a divider
Only 2021 Job1 cars got the divider because of a regulatory issue with the software. No GT ever got the divider since they were all 2021 Job2 or later cars. ??

It was put there for safety compliance since the Feds hadn't approved Ford's software for the frunk release until some time before the 2021 Job2 cars came out (and after the 2021 Job1 cars haad already started shipping, obviously). There's no need for it if you don't transport anything that will shift in the frunk. ?‍♂?
I have a 22 GT. A divider is news to me.

Since the software started shipping with 2021 Job2 cars, thereh as been no need for the divider. Since your car is later than a 2021 Job1 car, it will not have the divider (or the holes for mounting one). ?‍♂?

Do tell, what was the regulatory issue?
One of the Gov't regulatory agencies (I am not sure which one, but I bet one of our forum members knows) hadn't been through the code enough to put their stamp of approval on it. Since it was a safety feature (along with a convenience feature), Ford could not ship it. This is why people (I don't think any of them are canines) like @Kamuelaflyer (definitely not a canine), @ChasingCoral, @Jimrpa, and others with 2021 Job1 cars did not have a working frunk release button on their center screen. There was no software to release the latch, so the button on the center screen and the button in the side of the frunk tub didn't work (which is why the soft center screen button and the FordPass app button don't exist for those cars unless they have had two modules updated and the center screen button specifically added through an FDRS routine or through FORscan). ??

The J1 frunk “issue” and how Ford has failed to deal with it takes up for more bytes than it should on the various internet forums.

Honestly, when it comes to the dividers I found that they were more of a hinderance than a benefit. There are no plastic grocery bags allowed in the state of Hawaii (they end up in the ocean which is right here) and our reusable bags and paper bags don’t fit as easily. The caveat is that we don’t have young kids running around here nor grandkids so there’s zero safety issue involved for us. YMMV.

As mentioned two other possibilities have been touched on that are worth considering. First leave one divider in. Second, modify (read cut) the slots that hold the horizontal piece in place so that it can be removed as needed. I used both of those at times but opted to go without dividers. Mine sleep with the fishes now.

Oh and definitely not a canine.

No need for that divider. Take it out if you can. Useless but somehow Ford thought was necessary to meet some code. First thing I disassembled as soon as I got my MME.

It’s a personal preference. I’ve kept mine in tact and use it for bottles, jugs, etc., so they don’t roll around from the store. I also keep a roll of paper towels and glass cleaner in there. Always upright and tidy!
I’m happy to read you keep paper towels and glass cleaner in the trunk. I’m wondering what other stuff people keep in their frunk - for out-on-the road emergencies. I seem to recall some owners keep a certain size screwdriver or wrench for minor repairs?
