I always use the frunk if I'm leaving any valuables in the car, it's absolutely safer and more secure than the rest of the vehicle. Thieves are opportunists and many won't even think to try and open the hood to look for valuables.

It’s slightly more secure as most smash and grab is just that. If window is broken they could just reach in and open the door, and thus open the frunk with the pull handle. But most wouldn’t be thinking that as EVs aren’t that mainstream.

The frunk's best defense is that few, if any thieves are likely to know it's even there, much less how to access it. Sure, they can smash and grab and find the release, but thieves are moving fast and looking for targets of opportunity. They're not going to get down on their knees looking for the release for the frunk (that, to my first point, most will have no idea exists).
