Is there a way to check a software recall is actually done? E.g. 25C69

Hi,

I posted the below at Reddit and some users suggested I may find help here.

I had the integrated park module appear in my ford account and got a mailed letter in mid February. I had the headlight module recall done at the dealership on Feb 2 and that paperwork said 25C69 was also complete. I dismissed it since I thought the update still wasn’t available... the stop sale was still on.

The recall still showed under my VIN this week so I made an appointment yesterday. At the dealership, the service manager and I checked my VIN and I checked my Ford account and the recall isn’t listed. They said it was done Feb 2nd. I asked them to check to see if there were pending updates...they checked the "software diagnostics" tab and nothing was in the drop down box. No software update for this appears in the car so it was not done by OTA.

I left and used Ford chat who referred me to the BEV team. I asked if they could pull a list of software updates. They said no and referred me back to the dealer. They did say the dealer could have mistakenly checked a box to mark the recall complete.

I'm in contact with the dealer's service department but what phrasing should I be using to have them show me the recall update was installed back on Feb 2nd? Or could my 2025 GT not need it? I curb the tires on hills but don't want to watch my GT roll away from me in the future.

Also, if the dealer marks a software recall complete, does not Ford automatically double check against what was done via a remote report from the car?
Thanks

A great question. I had a recall done recently at the dealer and just don't feel 100% confident it was actually completed. I guess this is the modern version of wanting them to give me back all the parts that were replaced, but sadly there's nothing to give back, so it's hard to verify what got done unless you have a reader.

I did notice that the CSP and recall for my car disappeared from the Ford app, though I never got an update with a notification in the car. I think the new app didn’t carry over that info or can’t see it.

Have the dealer run a Forscan report and print it to show you it has been completed
My understanding is that a Forscan report will just list parameters and their values. Even if there is a line with "integrated park module version" or something, I don't know the old version number vs new number. I've read that I need a scan before an update and one after and then go line by line to see what has changed.

Same here. It was on the app and I got a letter but now no longer showing on app. The letter said fix not available. Is this st true?

Interestingly, I got the recall letter today that software is now available. No one at Ford, Ford BEV team or Ford recall has been able to help.

The same for me.
My Fordapp doesn't show recalls, and I got 2 letters earlier in the year informing of the parking recall. A mobile Ford tech came to do my 10k service a month ago, and he didn't have the software for that recall yet; he said "you will get it OTA". "Thankfully", I guess, the Ford website still shows the recall active and incomplete.

Had a brainwave. Logged into Ford.com and there we are. Powertrain recall, Paint CSP.
Oddly now see these in the App under Service Planner.

The update was not out on 2/2. 25’s did not have the fix until 2/17. 24’s are still waiting

Yes, that’s what I thought but the after hours on the phone with Ford and the dealership, they say it’s done. Unless someone knows a way to definitely check a software recall has been completed via FDRS, then there’s no way for me to have them redo it.
I have all my calls and emails documented in case there is an issue in the future.

The first person I spoke to at ford told me the update was available. The second said they must not have read the whole thing that specifies 25-26 MY only. I wouldn’t put too much behind what Ford says.

I don’t know how you would know for sure. It’s possible your dealer isn’t seeing anything because it isn’t out yet, and then when it’s out your vehicle will see it and you’ll be able to update.

I dropped my MachE off today, for the two core recalls (Parking and headlight module) to be completed. Within 6 hours or so, the Dealer phoned and said my MachE is ready for pick up (doing so tomorrow).

I checked my VIN online (via Ford.com), and it still shows the two recalls outstanding. This could be merely timing (hasn't synced from the Dealer to Ford, yet), right...?

yes there’s lag time for the system to update. You can also check the nhtsa site
