Is there regen in whisper?

There is regen when using the brake pedal in every drive mode. It’s a blended brake system.

I think brake coach is only on in Engage, or on by default and optional on the others, the actual braking behavior is the same, it is blended and will try to regen, but if you have to press too hard it will switch to physical.

not only that, the total level of regen available (through a combination of lift off and brake application) is exactly the same in every mode.

The same level of deceleration gets you the same amount of regen regardless of mode.

But this is good thing. you use less energy to begin with(rather then lose energy for the Regen and put more energy to accelerate)

The braking coach is only available in Engage mode. It will not appear in Unbridled or Whisper. Even without using the brake pedal there is a less-aggressive regenerative braking taking effect in Whisper. As others have said, using the brake pedal first increases the regenerative braking up to a point, then the friction brakes start to engage. ??

All the modes are the same in terms of efficiency.

The only difference is how the car responds to throttle input.

You can “coast” in every mode as well. It’s just it happens at 0% throttle in whisper, likely around 5% throttle engage, 10% unbridled and 15% 1PD.

And Brake Coach does not measure regen - it just gives an approximation what percentage of your braking is regen.

Whisper has regen, it is lighter than engage. Brake coach does not appear in whisper mode. Unbridled has the strongest regen.

In my 2013 C-Max Energi, after every drive, when shutting down the car, you would get a regen number for the trip and lifetime....I found that info to be very interesting.......I was driving about 7000 miles/year then and at one point had about 7000 regen miles.....loosely, I regen. a year's free mileage....

i miss the info of regen miles.....a nice number to know, total regen......

It doesn't really even do that since you can get a 100% brake score in Neutral with no regen.

GT performance has that green bar. Rest of us do not.
