Ford Mustang Mach-E Is this EV driving history normal? IMG_3644

I don't care much about X mi/kWh stuff as I have never worried about such a thing for ICE cars. However, while taking a look at Ford Pass, I found this EV history seems too unrealistic. Shouldn't the number be around 3 or so given that I mostly rode on highways? At first, I suspected that it didn't consider charging. However, I didn't charge during this trip so I'm very confused.

Sometimes those numbers have no basis in reality. Or you went down a very long hill.

Driving DOWN Mt. Washington? ;) Mount Washington Auto Road is a truly legendary drive in NH (dangerousroads.org)

I find myself questioning the FordPass data and relying on my data from the panel and the miles driven.

When that happens to me, it usually means FordPass accidentally added in the mileage from a shorter trip. Do you see a shorter trip immediately before or after that one?

Much of the data FordPass provides is wrong or useless. I go on a 10 mile drive and have 73 suggestions.

FordPass is trash. I recommend trusting a 3 year old to do your taxes before you trust any numbers FordPass reports to you.

There is a short trip right after this. But, instead of coincidence that the number 1.2 appeared, I found no way how it affected the previous trip.

In fact, here is another weird data, which has no short trip just before or after. After this, there was 31.8 mi trip and before there was 7.5 mi trip (I assume it is not considered 'short'.)

I have noticed that my trip computer in the car sometimes does not reset the miles driven from the previous trip. This happens every 2-3 times I start the car, so it happens a lot.

Depending on the length of the previous trip, it can have a huge impact on what is reported in FordPass. I try to look at my trip computer when starting the car, and if it says anything other than "0" for miles driven, I turn the car off and back on again. That is the only way to reset the miles driven. I have had to turn the car off more than once to get it to reset before. So it is possible FP is combining even more than two trips when calculating the efficiency.

As long as my car starts with 0 miles driven, all my FordPass efficiency reports are accurate. Also, I have never seen an error with the energy use reported in FP, just the distance driven.

Others have reported the same issue here in the forum, so it appears to be a common bug. It really needs to be fixed because as others have said, it really messes up the reporting when it thinks you drove twice as far as you really did.

This ^^^

Yes, it needs to be fixed. Meanwhile, the workaround is to press the Start button without pressing the brakes, and then, a few seconds later (I usually put the sitting belt on), actually start the car normally. In my experience, the second time the milage gets reset to zero very relyably.

That is a good idea. I am going to try that.
