Is this our next Sync 4A change?

As other have said, since it looks like a slightly smaller display, I think what they are doing is using the same design cues and platform, but tweaks for each display version. Other than the crappy looking icons on our new design, I like where they are heading.

I like the floating display because it brings it a few inches closer to the eyes (and therefore bigger) and touch. I get that some people don’t like it, but not everyone can be right all the time.
While I prefer landscape to portrait layout for screens when it comes to a floating vs integrated screen layout I think Ford got it right with the movable portrait screen in the Euro EV Explorer as it covers both the integrated and floating cases hopefully they will use that design in future EVs if they are going to continue with using these same large portrait screen setup.

That's nice. Now if they could only make these rotatable to landscape for watching stuff while charging...

Physical and digital HVAC controls? Seems odd.
My 19 Explorer Sport has both. See SyNRG has one too.

the buttons are nice for increasing fan speed and heated/cooled seats. The sync 3 controls for hvac are nice for the rear control.

Yeah, the air outlets could be better designed, but I also prefer the display to be frenched-in. It looks like an afterthought in the MME where it could have been moulded into the dashboard and look like it belongs. ?‍♂?
The vents look stupid and what’s the deal with the red trim?

EV6 has a row of soft buttons that toggle between HVAC and infotainment in addition to the touchscreen

And that toggle system seems to be universally disliked by the reviews that I've seen.
I preferred it to having no buttons at all.

It took a little practice, which is why reviewers who only have a day or so with the car would balk. But once I got used to it, it worked great.

But they aren’t actually buttons. They look like the carp that was in much ‘14 FFE with MyFord Touch. I hated those touch controls. My brother’s ‘18 FFE has real buttons. ??

Since we have a knob, I think ours will be different.

IMO if you have physical buttons you don't need the same touch screen buttons right above it. If I had physical buttons I would prefer a single touch screen button that took me into the full HVAC controls.
Since everyone has their own likes\dislikes it seems like a customizable bottom half of the screen would suit most people.

Hopefully this is a sign that they are getting rid of the glued on knob.
