I have my case number. I have had multiple communications from Ford today. The dealer is contributing to the process.

Many thanks to multiple people from this forum who have helped with the claim and communications with Ford.

Heh, I won a raffle. Got a cool custom-made field trial lead for my Miniature Poodle. Jumped in the lifted Blazer and drove home after giving the leather guy measurements. ??

Never really got to use the field trial lead since we're excluded by rule. Sub-Standards couldn't compete in Hunt Tests or Field Trials back then. That's OK, since our goal wasn't titles. It was filling the barbecue. ??

Thank you. I have never competed in the field trials with a poodle but I have big huge giant respect for the people that do. Nicely done.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. Hopefully your repairs go faster than mine. I have been without my mach e for almost 3 weeks and they haven't begun to fix it. I was told it would take 10 days to get the parts. Meantime I am fronting the cost for my Kia soul rental ? Ford has been less than helpful- I get they're overwhelmed but I was stoked to have an EV for summer

I was told it would take 10 days to get the parts. Meantime I am fronting the cost for my Kia soul rental ? You should go into the dealer and talk to the service manager/director. Is yours the same issue, confirmed? If so, there is plenty of stock so they’re just stringing you along. Talk to them in person and get them to cover your rental as well. I’m sure they will!

Service manager and Ford case manager both said 10 days and 10 days for repair. Warranty says reimbursement for rental this was case manager for Ford. I need to challenge it, I had to hang up I almost had a panic attack when she said prepaid debit card. I did not set aside funds.

First, sorry this happened to you, we have several HVBJB failure veterans here that know the process. For others, this situation is another example why you want the recall software installed ASAP if you will be roadtripping/DCFC in a GT. Hopefully FDRS is fixed soon so dealers can resume updates. Had the new software been installed, he would have been able to drive the car to a dealer or home instead of needing a tow. The fault probably would have shown up sooner as well (likely before the last stop). MY22 cars built before May 25th are just as likely to fail as MY21 vehicles since they have the same troublesome part and unpatched software.

The P0AA1 (positive contactor stuck closed) code means 100% you will need a new HVBJB. Now that Jody diagnosed it remotely in 10 min, let's see how long it takes that dealer to do the same. Your dealer should order the 10C666 part right away. The Ford parts depot is prepared and has lots available to ship on short notice for this failure, so your dealer should be able to receive the part the next day or two after ordering. Getting someone who can do the repair at the dealer may also prove to be a challenge, you may have to wait until Ford field service engineers are available. EV certified dealers are supposed to have the battery lift, lifting blocks, and leak check connectors on hand, as well as an EV certified technician.

Also if this happens to anyone else, SHUT OFF THE CAR TO SAVE THE 12V BATTERY until a tow truck arrives, you need enough power left to get it in emergency tow mode. Disable walk away lock as well, and keep a front window down if possible to avoid a lockout. The DC/DC shuts down and the 12V system stops being charged when the stop safely now error appears. Everyone with a GT and no recall should practice putting the car in emergency tow mode so you know how to do it. Also familiarize yourself with the proper Mach-E Winch Recovery Tow Points and towing procedures. It was good the OP knew he needed a dolly truck so his battery rails weren't damaged.

My complaint is the length of time I'm without my vehicle. Ford's issue (I'm guessing) is they don't have the trained staff and parts ready for this.
I am very hopeful and optimistic that I can work something out with Ford that takes fuel costs and rental costs into consideration. Any pointers on that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to remain optimistic too. I'm crossing my fingers. You'd think it's a drop in the bucket but I did not plan to front these costs plus have the hold on my credit card. Im a teacher and I think it's going to speak for all the extra money I made teaching summer school. Ford says I will get it back 7 to 10 business days upon completion of repair. Soooo after summer I will have spending money again ?‍♀ but some peeps are helping to expedite. Should be sharing good news ?
