I do it all the time - just did it today. Sometimes it seems I have to do it twice - I think it may not work if pressed too soon after closing the door.

Never seen a comparison, but anyone at a dealership could just throw a thermometer in two Mach Es of the same color side by side with and without the roof and see.

All I know is my dark matter grey Mach E with the glass roof is a LOT cooler than my white Chevy SS sedan with ceramic tint was.

I would be surprised if it’s more than a couple degrees warmer with the glass roof vs steel.

Now winter is another thing altogether. Our “up north” friends complain about how cold the car is with the glass roof. Doesn’t keep heat in as well and it’s reflecting sun heat from the outside. The worst of both for winter.
The glass roof will be hotter because it re-radiates heat into the car. The actual R value of the glass is very low, so conducted heat can pass through it easily from outside to inside. This is different than its thermal transmission ratings (e.g. IR/UV blocking). The heat from the sun will hit the glass roof, the roof blocks that energy from passing through directly, but instead it absorbs the heat into the coatings and glass. So the glass gets hot. The glass then re-radiates the heat into the cabin because it's hot.

A metal roof will have a higher R value with the headliner above you, so the rate of heat gain from the roof will be slower.

Covering the glass with something that has an actual R-value will help in extreme heat. However the glass can get extremely hot and crack if it can't reject any heat, so you have to be careful.

So, it's been toasty here lately and I've taken the forum's advice about just leaving the car running. It's wonderful to return to a cool car. Here's the problem: I'm too stupid to be able to find out how to keep the car from honking twice as I walk away. It's really irritating to both myself and I can see others wince when it happens. Someone here must know how to change a setting that allows a "quiet" walkaway. Please.............

Curiously, it seems they also removed that honk from the 2025. ?
Oh yeah, they did! I ordered an OBD2 adapter specifically to turn that off in FORScan. Ends up I have nothing to turn off! Guess I should have checked first.

There are other cool things to do with ForScan, to include turning off seat belt warning chime, turning on mirror tilt in reverse, replacing compass heading with outside temp on IPC, etc.
