I leave my car running all the time. The most common use case for me is while visiting crews at our various worksites. Those visits are usually less than 15 minutes so I just get out and close the door. Fob in my pocket. Since the car doesn't usually leave my sight....it works fine. The only issue is I can't make or answer a phone call since my phone is still connected to my car via bluetooth.

So, because of that reason.....or if I am going inside a building and might be away for a while then I just shut off the car, walk away lock and then remote start from the phone. That works fine too.

I probably remote start my car about 4-6 times per day....

I assume you get back into the car and start it (or drive it) in between those remote starts? I thought you can't remote start more than twice in a row, or once if you extend. Or does that only last for a specified period of time?

One thing to be aware of if you leave the car on and exit with the key is that it will double honk. If you are somewhere where you don't want that to happen, better to shut down then remote start.

If I am leaving sight of the vehicle and think I will be back in 15 min or less then I just remote start once I am far enough away to make the mirrors fold (signaling to me the vehicle has locked).

If I think it will be longer than 15 min then I just wait to remote start until I am heading back to the car. The A/C in the car is so effective it will cool it down in a matter of minutes, even when it is 112F outside.

Remote start gives you 15 min. There is a button in FordPass to extend an additional 15 min if I am running long.

I haven't ever been in a situation where I needed to leave my car running for more than 30 min.

Yes you can, you just have to leave the car on. You would have to turn off the shut off timer that should do it.
Leave the car on and walk away, my doors lock automatic . wont hurt the vehicle at all.

Yup, it locks automatically when you walk away. By default it makes loud annoying honks at you when you get about 20 feet away when it locks auto locks until you disable the beeps in the car settings...

Another option is turn it off, but then remote start it ~10 min from the Ford app (or however long needed to heat/cool) before you will get back to the car.

Correct..after 2 consecutive remote starts you’ll need to start the car using PaaK or key. If you drive after each remote start it’s not a problem.

Do you manually lock the car in the B panel, FOB, PAAK, or does walk away lock work still while the car is on.

I am thinking about doing this whenever i go to work first thing in the morning usually get a cup of joe down the street. I might as well leave the car on. I just fired her up say 5-8 minutes ago. No point in shutting down and firing it up when I am in and out of the coffee shop in less than 5 minutes. Unless I am flirting with the hot baristas which can take a little more LOL.
Well, the max a/c (and heated seats/wheel in winter) kicks in well on start-up. Just shut it down, not worry about it, and linger away...

Drive car. Stop. Don’t turn off. Toss fob in console. Open door. Press Door lock button. Get out. Close door. Walk away. Car is locked.
Car has no clue you’re gone and will run forever.
When you get back to car… use door pillar code or FordPass app to unlock car. Get in. Drive away.

When using remote start, you always have to start the car again when you get inside.

IF......there is no one in the car, no pets, no kids, no granny's, the walk away lock will work with the car still on. BUT, there is an active INTERIOR motion sensor that is difficult to turn of. I often leave my husband in the car while i run into the grocery store....however, the motion alarm always goes off, even when we dig around in the sync-4 and turn off the motion sensors. It's a bug.....ford says its something to do with the fob vs PAAK vs keypad....the software gets confused and locks, then unlocks then locks, which resets the disabled motion sensor. Ford could solve the problem by creating a "pet mode" like some other manufacturers have done......bmw......tesla.....nissan.
