Keypad second digit

Just got MMEGT had Mme before 3 years never used keypad thought I would try with the new car I remember that to get second digit you had to press twice I have tried that then hitting 3-4 but no open door searched internet and the forum but can't find if I am doing it correctly

No you don’t hit the button twice to get the second digit on the keypad. Just hit each button once. 1 is the same as 2, 3 is the same as 4 etc.

I have 5 digit andit does not say how to get second digit i.e if you want 4

That's the pessimistic view.

The optimistic view is it is a 5 option keypad that provides twice as many options for remembering the code.

The door numbers essentially reduce your code to a possibility of 5 digits from 10. Each button represents two numbers.

Reduces the number of unique codes way more than 50%

If there were 10 buttons, a 5 digit code would have 100,000 unique combinations.

The MME has 5 buttons, so a 5 digit code has only 3125 unique combinations.

The keypad is temporarily disabled after a few incorrect entries. I don’t recall how many, 5 or 6? I’m not worried about someone guessing my code.
