What is unclear to me is if the GT shocks are shorter than the premium meaning the GT will be barely lower. If they are the same and the GT is lower because of body panels etc the drop could be fairly dramatic.
@markboris when you swapped a GT suspension onto your Premium trim, could you tell if the shocks and/or springs were shorter from a GT variant to a Premium variant?

I know for sure the springs were shorter and I posted photos of the springs side by side on one of the threads. Not that it makes a difference. The shocks were the same length as far as I remember.

Thanks. Was the premium lowered when you installed the GT suspension?

can You put a dummies guide here ?
Bullet points are more than enough
  1. I downloaded an app called "Accelerometer" from the Apple App store...has a picture of the letter G on it.
  2. When you go into the app you can play around with it to start it you click "Start Measuring" and will see it starts measuring your X / Y/ Z movement. I have my refresh rate set at 20Hz and I didn't play around with different settings.
  3. Once you click start measuring it will start plotting the movement and then you click "Stop Measuring" to end the session.
  4. To send the data you click "Export" and then I did CSV and then emailed it to myself.
  5. Once I verified I received the email of data you can then go back to the app and "Clear" to start fresh.
  6. In my email I took the CSV and Copied the data and pasted it into excel
  7. When you do that it puts it all as one cell so I used the "Text to Column" feature in Excel (it is under the Data Ribbon
  8. Then with Delimited selected I clicked "Next"
  9. and for the Delimited I picked semi colon which is what breaks out the data for X / Y / Z plotting.
  10. Once I had three rows of Data I highlighted the Z row (not sure if that is the best row or not) and created a chart. I believe I did a "line chart " but will have to double check.
For the placement of the phone I just put it flat on the wireless charger spot. I dont think it matters that it is perfectly level as we are measuring movement so I think having it stabilized is more important than level.

Let me know if any of that doesn't make sense.

Thanks. Gives some comfort that the min drop with the KW is not as much as the website says then.
Yes, about 10mm which is what I’ve been saying lol.

Connor, you got an install date lined up?
Sometime between next week and first week of August. My new wheels are showing up Thursday so I’ll be all set to do the swaps.

IT WORKS!

so, I got KWS fitted on my MME today.

RIDE IS SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED.

that's the short summary.

MORE:

I ordered my KWs about the same time as @connoisseurr and got them installed today by a KW authorised dealer and installer. everything as per @taikajim's post. his is more detailed than mine since I wasn't around for the install. (that pernicious thing called work).

MME got lowered to 20 mm - this is NOT discernible at all when sitting in it. it still very much feels the previous high ride feeling.

dampers set to factory setting.

this installer is about 20 miles from my place and before and after rides were noticeably different.

now, the MME glides on roads where there aren't imperfections and where there are, it bumps but does not pitch. (see @taikajim's post for a pic on pitching and his description)

for context, I am in UK where 80% of our road surface is asphalt. there are road imperfections.

in terms of measurement, I downloaded the AccelView free app on my Android phone and did my usual station ride before the fitting and recorded the data and did the same after the fitting.

this ride is 3.2 miles approx from start to finish.

AccelView measures on 3 axes, X, Y and Z and on time as well, but I think the Y axis is most relevant to us.

I found that the peak values in the AFTER data is about 45-50% lower than the peak values in the BEFORE data.

I am very bad at tech and graphs and am happy to share the two CSV files for anyone who might want to plot graphs. I got MS Excel to create a graph for each of them but that was the end of my tech skills. I couldn't superimpose them on each other to compare.

I am also not sure how accurate the superimposed comparisons would be because for the BEFORE I started from my doorway and ended there, whereas for the AFTER due to various reasons, I could start only from street level which is about 20 meters away.

I tried to stick to the same speeds but I seriously doubt I truly replicated the two rides.

please note I am writing this about an hour after install. I haven't done any long rides nor have I taken fam in it.

will update, particular on views from front and rear passengers.

however, again, in short, those who have ordered this - you won't regret it. this does not replicate the air suspension feel but OMG it's so so so much better.

if you have followed my posts on this subject, I was seriously looking around for replacements for the MME just because of the ride quality.

not anymore. the KWs aren't a cheap install, but they are a much cheaper option than buying another EV which has like for like in terms of spaciousness and range.

my installer does not do the tuning of the suspension and has set to factory settings. he has recommended another shop if I want to play around with settings and customise to my comfort. I haven't decided on whether to do that. we'll see.

overall I am a happy MME owner.

great news. I am sure a lot of people have been waiting for this news.

If the Steeda (I am trying the cheapo route first) does not work I will be heading over to KW

I'm very excited to get mine installed, after reading your review @coolshades.

FYI - I do have a vendor willing to support a group buy so more news about that coming soon. I've cleared this with a forum moderator and this group buy will be in-compliance with existing rules regarding group buys, vendors, and sponsorships.

That is great news! I am a few hours away from trading in my GT for GTPE....now wondering if I would rather keep my GT and pay the difference on after market suspension based on how well it works.

What did it cost to install? I was quoted $1500 - $2000 to install and they said they would need to redo alignment. They are a suspension shop.
