I will also say in the beginning when I wasnt getting anywhere, I opened a case online with Ford and performed several tests they asked me to run. When the issue kept appearing after the tests they told me to take it to my dealer to have it replaced. However, the dealer seemed hesitant to replace it. They also informed me, "by the way, we will not be an EV service shop at the end of this year". Wow, nice! While we like our Mach-e this little experience has not been ideal. I should add that after I "gave up" a dealer person did call after a week or two and asked me how things were going. I told them the issue was still happening. They finally did offer to replace the unit but we were away on vacation. I have not been back to the dealer yet.

110v would really take a couple of days!! BTW, if my car is parked outside in really, really high temps, when I get back to my garage I get a message that I need to plug in because temp is too high. Ford told me that's to cool the engine. That's fine but when I plug in, it starts charging which I guess is ok.
Purchase an EVSE. Any of them other than any Ford supply equipment will work (much better than he Ford supply equipment).

And regarding EVs and the extreme temperatures we’ve been experiencing. I’ve been reading about that, especially triple digits, and how it dramatically reduces range. 30% in the nineties, even more in the triples. Not as bad as extreme cold, but pretty bad. Increased charge times and battery damage on top of that.
Really? Not now or ever had that experience (6 years of EV charging).

When you say replace the unit, what unit are you talking about. The Ford mobile charger or the charge port or??

My 2021 Premium EXT is at home in the garage at 75 degrees connected to my L2 charger and is charging at 3kw which is less than half of its normal charge rate. Tired of dealing with these kind of annoying but not major issues 2 years into it. That said, any ideas?
I hate to admit that I had the same problem. To match my supplied connector to my receptacle I was using the 120V connector. Once I had a new receptacle installed to take the 240 plug, it worked.
I started to get 20 miles added per hour
Then I decided I would buy a Grizzl=E and go to a 50 amp breaker and I now get over 30 miles added per hour.

Why are you using the portable instead of a dedicated 48 - 50 Kw L2? That portable is emergency at best

The 240v 40A mobile charger has a supplied wall mount bracket and is not emergency charger. It’s worked fine for over two years.

This is old posts about Leaf's most likely. Anything with active cooling on the battery like we have has much less effect on range as the AC on full tilt is only 6kW an hour.

My SECOND ford charger just started the same thing a few weeks ago! The first charger failed after 6 months, this one lasted 10. Both went into reduced charging mode (amber on, blue flashing). The chargers should be able to manage a northeast summer. Going to the dealer tomorrow. Boy I hope they’ve remedied whatever the issue is. Not thrilled about buying a charger for the car when I was under the impression it came with one.

My light stays blue throughout. I think the problem is with Ford Pass. It tells me it will take over 24 hours to charge to 85% even if I’m at 50% or more. But it takes only a few hours.

My chargers blue light is steady on, but only getting about half the charge rate (car and FordPass say the same). So I’m taking the charger and vehicle to the dealer. Not sure they have a 240 V circuit and receptacle to test it though. Anyway that will be a starting point.

I have my car plugged in whenever I’m home (I’m retired), and have the charge window set to correspond to our peak solar array power generation time (10kw). And I’m usually only charging 10-30% (to 90%) so a low charge rate is not impactful under most conditions. I don’t know if the DC fast chargers will have any issues. Now that would be a major problem and indicate it’s a vehicle issue. But - that does bring up an idea for testing. Go find a public L2 charge station and see what happens.

But how long does it take for it to charge? Does it take a significant amount of time less than the Ford Pass says? I just plugged in my car into the 240V. It's about 50% when I plugged in. Ford Pass says it's charging at 3 kw and will be done on Wednesday (today is Monday). I guarantee it will be done in just several hours. So doesn't that mean it's a Ford Pass problem?

What people are suggesting is that you invest in a good EVSE and put the Ford mobile charger in the MME for use in emergency. The Ford mobile charger is light duty and it WILL fail. I used mine as primary for about a year but got tired of loose pigtails and amber lights. Many local utilities provide rebates lowering cost to approx $150. If you haven’t done this, turn breaker off and make sure the wires in your 240v outlet are tight. BTW, I think the Ford mobile charger is 32a, not 40a.

Is your 240v line on a 40A or a 50A breaker?
