Took 2021 AWD in to have cruise control fixed. This was charge for 2 parts (cables) plus labor. Can someone out there please explain. Picked up car drove back home and ACC still didn’t work. What no road check . Ran cable from IPMA at rear of car to IPMA camera at front of car for $2400.00 labor cost.

Yes, I would ask them what their hourly labor rate is, and then how many hours it took.

For the camera coax cable replacement, I would think about 5 hours is reasonable. In LA, labor rate is probably up to $250/hr now? So I would expect around $1300 in labor.

What's really important is that they spent your money, and apparently did not fix the problem...

Yes, that labor charge is WAY too high. More than twice what it should be for sure.

What I don't understand though and as you should know, it is California state law that ALL auto repair facilities are required to give you a written estimate of the repair and you have to approve it. Does not sound like to me that ever happened as I wouldn't think you would not have gone ahead with the repair. If you had approved a repair charge (maybe it was much less) and once they got into it and found it would be more expensive, again, they cannot go any further with the repair until they contact you and you approve the additional repair costs. This is true for every auto repair facility in CA. You are NOT required to pay for the repair if no estimate was given to you but sounds like you already paid for this repair.
