Sorry - I just double-checked and I was confused (not a surprise). The british pronounce it "mack" as in the trucks. My bad

I think we are both wrong, assuming we should be using the German pronunciation of Ernst Mach's last name (makh) rather than the Amerenglish (mock) or Brenglish (mack).

You are correct...that's how Chuck Yeager pronounced it when I was shooting commercials with him at Edwards AFB..."mawk" to be precise.
