Yeah, I'm confused. OP hits a deer, and then is annoyed that it messes up the sensors?

Stop blaming the F**king forest vermin! This issue has existed and annoyed me since July and was diagnosed by my dealer on Aug 4th. The dealer found logs related to the Lane Centering failures and sent them to Ford Engineers on August 4th. 2 months and no answers.

With the TSB applied it is happening less but still happening.

After the deer incident I had to the car inspected and there were ZERO errors for sensors.

It has to be either software or hardware.

This happens to me also, and I have seen others complaining about it too. it turns off with "lane centering not available" until car is restarted every time I go into a turn it cannot handle, even when handling it manually. I have specific areas where I just have to remember turning off lane centering before entering the turn, or it will shut it self off and refuse to turn on. It is really annoying, and my previous Ford Focus with lane centering never did this (but it even had a dedicated button on the steering wheel just to turn off lane centering, but leave lane assist on, which I really miss).

I constantly have to restart the car while driving to enable the system again, and it is really annoying. Resart procedure while driving: Wait until flat road or slightly downhill, switch gear selector to Neutral, quickly tap 3 times on Start button, wait one second, tap again, wait .5 seconds, switch gear selector back to Drive and quickly press accelerator pedal to avoid braking. It may take another 1-2 seconds until drive assist systems have initialized and errors go away. Use caution however: During this procedure all driver assist features will be disabled and there will be no traction control or ABS in case something happens.

I have error code for steering wheel sensor appearing and re-appearing after reset, which seems to be covered by one of the TSBs however. Maybe my car needs a software update, but it still seems it does not fix it from what I see..

Mine tried to follow the shadow of a flyover instead of the lines today at about noon. A hand on the wheel is a good thing.

My dealer didn't want to perform the TSB until they see if TSB 21-2288 fixed it, because that updates the PCM, SOBDMB, SOBDMC, BECM, and ABS. We'll see if it fails again.
If only there was some way Ford could circumvent the dealership service department in cases like this…
