I know I’m not the only one that’s considered a weight of some sort to trick the lane centering for enhanced autonomy (but still monitored) outside of Blue Cruise zones. What are we using? My first thought is a neck, bean bag, snake like thingy. Just now thought of a sock with BBs! What ya got?

Sorry, Your question seemed a bit odd to me, especially for a 2025+.
But I just googled "weight of some sort to trick the lane centering for enhanced autonomy" and realized you were trying to add a torque weight to the steering wheel, to make the system think you are in control...
Thought " neck, bean bag, snake like thing " were 3 different options! But, again googled and it came back with this: Who'd a thunk?

Not sure I would advise this, but I am intrigued. Is this something that came over from the Tesla world?

Seriously? You believe you understand the limitations of the system better than the people who designed it and put the limits in place? If so, what do you base that belief on? If not, why would you want to disable a safety feature, endangering yourself and your passengers, as well as other unsuspecting motorists who would have no idea you’ve done such a thing?

So I was thinking of commenting on the OP, then I saw this response, so instead I reported it to the Admins.

Ok, I feel less crazy I'm not the only one who thought like this (don't have Blue Cruise). On a recent (long) roadtrip, I had this same thought. What I ended-up doing was stopping at the next truck stop, bought some small bungie cords, removed the metal hooks, tied them into loops, looped it around the bottom-center of the steering wheel, and extended it to the length where I could rest my hands on my legs comfortably and keep the right amount of tension on the wheel. Worked great!

The thing that would scare me about adding weights would be if/when you need to do an emergency evasive maneuver. They will either fly off or impede you ability to steer in an emergency. With the bungies, they are light and I could still either directly steer with it in my hand or just unloop it and gain control.

I read this kind of post, and the OP's, and I shake my head. So, you're wrapping bungies around your steering wheel, and holding your hands on your legs to drive the car, right? You're in Arizona. Great. No where that I will be driving soon.

A 2lb ankle weight, placed at top of wheel slightly off center, keeps a low profile and provides just enough force to trick the torque sensor without actually impacting your steering. As always, you’ve got to keep your eyes on the road, and I believe the eye sensor will nag you regardless? But it’s a pretty easy hack if you want to not pay for BlueCruise Hands Free. I suppose the one serious criticism is that this hack encourages people to drive hands free on undivided roads - something Ford has thus far deemed to be an unsafe use of its hands free tech. But Hands On BC and Hands Free BC rely upon the same exact optical Lane Keeping tech.

isn’t it interesting how you can drive hands-free on the same roads using the same systems if you just pay a little more per month/year? The only limitation needing understanding is money.
