Given all the issues that have been reported by you guys in the US with PAAK I am VERY surprised that anyone still relies on it to use their cars.
I am really glad that PAAK ISN'T an option in the UK. I can see why.

I have found it VERY reliable once it is set up correctly.

One year in with '21 Job 2 Premium, and I use PAAK 95% of the time. Have never had to use a door code to get in and KTO works 100% of the time. Only once did I have to use the backup code to start the car. I used to see the No Key Detected message after the car was started and I was driving, but I haven't even seen that for a month or two.

One cannot discount the possible contribution of a phone, its OS and bluetooth version to the issues some are having. FordPass now has a checklist to aid in the reliable operation of PAAK.

not likely backup codes were erased unless you did a master reset in Sync

Did you test using Backup Code after setting it up with your fob 'far away', and your phone BT off?

Did you notice the the first letter in the backup code will be CAP-on by default and then the rest is lowercase? The code you entered may not be what you wrote down if you did/didn't notice exactly what was UPPER/lower.
I have found it VERY reliable once it is set up correctly.
Good advice. This is how I occasionally check up on the passcode from time to time. If it doesn't work it is almost always operator error.

My Phone as Key didn't work the other day either. I had the Fordpass app running, and was able to lock/unlock the car with the app, but it would not start because "No key detected".

I've just decided to carry the keyfob with me indefinitely. It's just not worth being stranded.

I used to have PaaK and it worked pretty well, but it stopped working after a car update and would never set up again - despite resetting the car system and despite even upgrading my iPhone to a 14. Like much of the Mach-e software, PaaK isn’t a bad idea, but the implementation just isn’t quite there.

Anyone think it’s funny that when the OPs “key” didn’t work, then the “backup key” didn’t work……… everyone’s solution is “oh, why don’t you have a backup backup key?”

?

I’ve been super hesitant to do this for security reasons, but just put a faraday bag on the Christmas list. Either that or a new car.
Faraday bag seems a more cost-effective solution.

You guys still have to carry big old-fashioned clunky fobs with you everywhere? How quaint ?

Fitting the double pull handle for the front trunk into a smaller fob was too difficult.

Oh wait......

as I mentioned in an earlier post, PAAK has been working 100% for me except for after a PHONE update that seemed to have 'un-friended' my phone and MME.....

To reconfigure successfully, you have to delete fordpass and MME pairings from your phone, and PAAK and 'regular' pairings from MME, and 're-introduce' from scratch and re-configure PAAK and set backup code as if first time.

set up PAAK first, then re-pair 'regular' phone BT to MME.

then TEST new backup code with phone BT off and Fob wrapped in several layers of foil.

then, you should be set, and can hide the foil-wrapped Fob somewhere inside your MME for emergencies, or when you are letting someone else drive like for Service or Valet parking.
