I saw that in a news article a while back. Unfortunate news imo, but it’s a feature that rarely gets used apparently.
I only use it for my abject amusement: when somebody sees the pad light up and asks what it is for, I tell ‘em it’s so I can get cash back like an ATM ???

Позже расскажу как я его все таки открою. Попытка открыть потянув за дверную коробку и нажав кнопку на панели двери не дала результата. Скорее всего машина уснула и не дает команду на открытие электронной части замка. Попробую разбудить и проверить. Открою капот питанием 12в и сниму клемму с аккумулятора и подключу и потом проверю кнопку на панели двери в салоне. (дверная коробка поддается и есть доступ к кнопке с палкой).

Setting up PaaK has nothing to do with FordPass being able to unlock, lock, or remote start...

Keypads are being discontinued by Ford starting in 2025.
Which is very sad. Ford has had this technology since the 1980s. I have absolutely no idea why Ford is getting rid of it (one assumes the ugly keypad “warts” will still be available as dealer-installed accessories).

Turn signals are also a feature that’s not used much any more. Can’t wait for Ford to decontent those!

Assuming Apple Translate is correct, you’re not going to be able to open the hood with the emergency cables in the bumper. Those only work if the 12V battery is dead.
Also, why did you switch to the other language (I’m guessing it’s Russian?)

I didn't have time to install the app on my phone.
The ONLY thing that the dealership made sure that happened before I left the dealership when we bought the car was to make sure FordPass was installed and set up for our car. They sucked at EVERYTHING else!

This type of thing is happening more and more across all manufacturers. Modern cars are constantly communicating with the manufacturer and reporting on what gets used and how often. Determining what doesn’t get used is easy with that information. Ford also knows how many people order the keypad entry system when it’s an option.

While pretty much everyone agrees it’s a nice feature, most people won’t order it unless it’s bundled and almost no one uses it. Sadly, these type of items get the axe. It costs money to keep the option for them open in the assembly line and costs money to keep the parts stocked.

I personally use it regularly on the Mach-e. I suspect I’m an outlier. What else is new? ?‍♂

Swimming. Head to the beach and lock the phone in with it turned off. No more leaving the keys/phone in a bag with my towel while I’m in the ocean doing my shark bait imitation.
