Update: so when I left the car outside back in Jan 1st week, I disconnected 12V battery, tried to use bean bag but it moved and the hood latched anyways.
Today I opened the hood with 12V jump start pack.
Reconnected 12V.
Everything worked just like before, THE main battery charge was 49% and car drives fine.

I left mine outside (Texas) from February-April. Didn't disconnect anything and the battery was at 100% (I didn't know it was supposed to be around 50%). It was still at 100% when I returned and drove just fine. :)

It’s supposed to be around 50% as per Ford, check previous replies.
It probably won’t matter for Texas weather but here in New England sub zero it’s better to disconnect 12V battery.

I figured that out after I was already in CO. I know for next time :)

I’m leaving for Europe for 3 moths and am thinking about leaving the 12 v battary attached but remote starting the car for about 1/2 hour every 2 weeks or so to maintain the 12 v battery. I’m also leaving the car in my garage with the window left open just in case the 12 v is dead when I get back. Alternatively, I can have someone drive the car once and a while but prefer not to take this route. Does anysee any problems with this plan?
I have normally just left mine as is for 6 weeks at a time in the winter (Vancouver WA) and it has been OK. My battery was almost 4 years old so I replaced it in December. Ends up we won't be back until end of April, so It will site for 4 months....do you think I should remote start it or just call my ford dealer every once in a while and find out the change? Thanks
