I live in the Pacific Northwest, USA. Weather is mostly temperate, a little ice/snow in winter but blazing hot in summers where temps can reach 90 - 100+ for days or weeks on end. With an all glass panoramic roof, what can I expect for relief when parking outside during those days? Is there a sun shade for the panoramic roof? How have others (meaning youse guys) dealt with it? (I mean beside cracking open your windows...like duh). Note: I do garage my car at home.

It's fine, the windshield and roof reject a lot of heat, your cars color might matter.

We were wondering the same thing....everyone says the tint is dark enough to prevent heat gain, so we shall see....

Amazon has them for 45 bucks for the pano roof. I have one and it's great.

I had no problems all summer.

But if I actually want it nice when I get to the car I just remote start it a couple minutes before….AC does not drain the battery much at all.

I also live in the PNW, but our temps don’t get close to 90 very often. So no issues here.

But I drove my brother’s model Y in Texas for a week. The car wasn’t hot, but roof got a bit hot. The good thing was that it cooled down in no time.

I park in my garage, so my MME isn't out in the sun for long periods of time as often as some people, but living in Colorado, where we get at least some days over 100F in the summer, I was worried about the same thing. I got a sun shade for the panoramic roof because of my worry, but after using it a few times in the last couple of summers, I really couldn't tell a difference in the heat of the car when it had been parked in the sun. So it has mostly just stayed coiled up in my trunk...

And now that I think of it, I've never felt particularly uncomfortable getting into my car when it has been sitting in the sun in the summer..

I've left it out in the direct summer sun (95+) during a sporting event with no shades up, and no shade over the car. When I return, it is far, far cooler than any other car I've ever owned. You can get a shade for it, but I don't think it would make a big difference.

I bought my '24 with full glass roof last August and was amazed how well the roof reflects the heat. While others have mentioned there are shades you can install, if I didn't find it necessary living in the Houston area (where summer temperatures are roughly 10 degrees cooler than the surface of the sun) than I suspect you'll do OK in the PNW area. :)

the roof has a special coating, and while in summer the glass will be hot to touch, heat does not seem to radiate from it. I'm in GA, we have very hot summers and it hasn't been a problem Here's info the coating.

I lived through August in Texas, and didn't notice heat or UV getting through the tint. Most of the time I don't even realize there is glass there. Honestly the view seems to be more for the backseat.

Not tint. IRR glass. No shade needed.
