Ford Mustang Mach-E Low Battery and Codes Tripping 439A48BB-7B92-42E3-A2A0-9B2D6299E76A

Why at 40% does it tell me my battery is low?!? I live in WI it’s 2 degrees right now. I don’t need you to tell me my battery is low at 40%

the other day the car slid on the ice I saved it and didn’t hit anything. Then the car starts losing its mind and tripped 7 codes! The dealer couldn’t get me in for 5 days so no cruise control during that time and as a realtor I drive a lot. Cruise would have been nice. The car spun imo because when it is really cold the car appears to kick out of “unbridled” so I took my foot of the throttle and it didn’t slow down at all! I had to brake hard while trying not to hit anything. That has happened 2x’s now where it is not in “unbridled” anymore. It appears to happen when extrem cold. Like negative 15 or so. Now this battery thingtelling me it’s low is just too much!

The car also didn’t charge overnight and it was a long day of driving so I woke up to 4% to get my kids to school and to a super charger so I could go to work.

Car is fun to drive but I’m not sure it has been worth it with these seemingly small issues as they add up to a lot of time dealing with them and time is money.
Sorry to all of the haters out there that will rip me because it’s not a big deal but I disagree with all the people that say things like that and trash others. It is a big deal we paid at least 60k for a product that I’ve had close to a year and the issues keep popping up.

There’s a setting where you can chose when the low battery warning comes on. That and your mode changes sounds like it’s just going to a guest profile instead of your profile. Does it happen after a remote start by chance?

Several people have had issues with traction control freaking out. Many people recommended disconnecting the battery for a few min but I don’t think any of those people tried it.

mine has done the late start on charging about 5 times now. Just another exciting bug. At least it was an excuse to use some of those free kWh.

The set point for the low battery warning is set by you and based on range, not charge level. I have mine set for 30 miles.

This is a brand new product and first adopters can expect more issues then someone who waits a year or two before getting it. New products always follow that cycle of continuous improvement until production ends.

If you say so but I’ve never set that and I am promise you that I’ve driven way below 50 miles before the low battery kicked in. If it’s a setting I will have to figure out where that even would be.

I understand there are going to be issues as a first adopter but can we really say it’s getting better almost a year in? I’ve had more issues with the car the longer I’ve owned it. So it almost feels like it is going backwards at times.

I’m going to have to find this setting everyone keeps talking about. I never set it when I got it. So maybe when it freaked out it reset some settings.

Ive had some weird codes before or the cluster not turning on, after the car sits off for awhileit seems to rest those. This time it did not get better another random code came on about turn signals. The best part is when it popped up I thought it said “blinker fluid” ?

I have not had the problems you have had, but my car is not in the extreme cold either. Other members of this forum have reported negative impacts of extreme cold, primarily damage to the 12V battery.

In this forum there have been reports of error messages after slipping in snow and spinning the car in the grass with the traction control off. They got the dealer to reset the car, but I think also there must be some software updates needed.

In general you probably have software updates needed. I know my car does. I recommend you report those problems to your dealer and ask them to do all the open software updates in FDRS. Search this forum for FDRS for threads of people doing their own updates.

Here is where you can find the low battery setting:

Thank you so much for that info! Clearly something is not right with this thing after it spun. Even after the dealer did their thing and I even asked if there are any Updates hanging out there and they said there wasn’t. But today it only charged to 60% so yeah something is off. It goes to dealer again next week for the roof recall and I have them putting the gasket in between the roof and the windshield so at least it will be quieter and the roof won’t fly off. Thanks again!

I am skeptical about what the dealer says. They might be right, but they might also mean they have done all the module updates they think could be causing your problems. It is hard to verify if they really updated all your modules unless you have FDRS and a subscription.

There are members on the forum who will run your VIN for you and you can confirm if there are any not done. Or you could ask the dealer if they mind giving you the FDRS update list. It is hard to ask that because you are basically saying they are not telling you the truth. I guess you have to find a way to ask them for it that is not insulting.

Also read through this thread to see if there is anything in it that might help you help your dealer.
