Finally got a chance to test drive a Lucid Touring last weekend at an EV event (also rode in a Taycan, EQS, and e-tron GT in an autocross track with pro drivers)

It's definitely a better Model S with even more tech (the info on the dashboard screen can slide into the center console screen) and the same mediocre ride quality and road noise. If the BMW i5 and i7 didn't exist the Lucid would be the top EV sedan choice. The BMW is quieter and the air suspension truly soften the ride. I had a long discussion with the sales person about this and how other customers have mentioned this. Unsure about Lucid's ability to survive with only one product in a dying sector (sedans). I heard Aston Martin is using the EV platform for their EVs.

I don't talk about EV acceleration because it's all the same. The Lucid, Taycan, EQS, e-tron can all pin you to your seat. And weight and tires matters. The EQS struggled on tight corners (felt like a Mach-E GT) compared to the nimbler e-tron and Taycan.

Lucid Gravity is coming and I bet they will attack $40-50k EV market next.

I heard about that. I know a Lucid fanboy (who happens to be a Ford employee - won't say what he works on but we all use it) who drove to Miami to look at the prototype. I'm not convinced folks would pick the Gravity over the Macan or iX or Q8. The ride quality and noise level concerns will probably carry over. The infotainment tech is pretty slick though.

Haven’t driven those cars, but I don’t see how “feeling like a Mach E GT” is an insult in terms of handling. At least on paper, the GT is a great handling vehicle

Skidpad G-
Mach E GTPE- .96
EQS- .88
etron GT- .92
Etron GT RS- .95

Now the Taycan is definitely Porsche-
Taycan GTS and turbo 1.02 G

*and keep in mind, we are definitely under-tired. For example- the Etron GT has 265 up front and 305 in the rear vs our 245 tires. With their tire setup, our skidpad difference would be even larger.

I almost waited for the Lucid Gravity, before buying my Mach-E this month (the value proposition was just too good). The only real competitor in the long range three row EV SUV space is the Rivian and Mercedes EQS (which I also strongly considered, but just didn't like enough). I figure the Gravity will likely be late, and it would be good to see what Ford might do with an Explorer size EV variant in a few years.
