Looks great @DudeWhat - glad we could help

May I ask what the wheel specs are (width/offset)? My apologies if you mentioned this prior and we missed it.

Hello all,

New to Mach E Forum and this is my first post!
I've been reading every post on this thread to try and come up with plan for changing out my wheels and tires. I'm changing them for two reasons:

Primary: I need at least 6in of ground clearance to get over the incline to my garage and the Mach E Select has 5.7in

Secondary: Looks and handling

My current setup: (OEM)

2023 Mach E Select AWD
Wheels 18x7 48mm offset, 5x108 bolt pattern 63.4mm bore
Tires 225/60r18 Michelin Primacy A/S 104H XL

Proposed setup: (would be square)

Wheels Fast Wheels Ev01+, 19x8.5 with 40mm offset, 5x108 bolt pattern 63.4mm bore
Tires 265/50/r19 Michelin CrossClimate2 110V XL (Fits 7.5 to 9.5in wide wheel, so I could go with the 19x7.5 44 offset Ev01+ as well).
Ford Mustang Mach-E Mach-E Aftermarket wheel and tire information and pictures FE01-EV01PLUS-TITANIUMS

The difference in diameter is 21mm or 0.82in, meaning I would gain 0.4in of ground clearance to a total of 6.1in. After plugging the numbers into a fitment calculator the diameter variance is 2.9%, and according to what I've read the variance should remain less than 3% or there will be ABS, and traction control problems.

I chose the wheels because from what I read the aero wheel should decrease the loss of range that I will get with wider and taller tires and wheels; they also won't break the bank.

What do you guys think? Will the proposed setup fit without poke (4cm difference between 225 to 265, plus the 7.5mm difference in wheel offset), or rubbing on wheelwell, suspension, breaks, components/fender? Will this ruin the car or at the least make ride and handling worse?

Any concerns or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

New summer setup 20x8.5 +45 & 255/45/20 Vredestein Ultrac Vorti summer tires. Wheels are Shift brand model Spring

On a side note, I am running these tires at 36 psi and the improvement in ride quality is very noticeable. Black Mustang center caps will arrive this week and I am going to paint the calipers Ford blue.

I think those tires would fit but are considerably taller and much higher load rating than the factory tire. With those 7.5" wide 19" 245/50/19 is a better choice if you had an 8.5" rim a 275/45/19 would be cool. I added a chart for Euro Metric sizes showing how much PSI should go into the tire based on its load index. This chart is for Euro Metric tire sizes, not to be confused with p-metric (easy to tell the difference P-metric say P225/55/19 103H Euro Metric don't have the P before the size)

So if you ran a 265/50/19 110V your correct inflation pressure would be 31psi, this is gonna cost you efficiency but probably be less harsh over bumps.

A few questions to those with aftermarket wheels.

What lug nuts are you folks with aftermarket wheels using? There seem to be 2 different styles.

The "Acorn" or "Cone" style .

The 'flat washer" style.

For the thread is M14x1.5 the correct thread pitch?

I want to use metal black valve stems and will be using the stock TPMS sensors. Is there a particular style of valve stems I need?

My aftermarket wheels require the acorn style lugs nuts as they are able to use the OEM lugs if wanted. That said, these are the ones I have used in the past.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089D9JZ4Z/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1
They are available in 1 3/8" long and 2" depending on the depth of the holes in your aftermarket wheels and what look you are going for.

As far as valve stems, I order my TPMS sensors with the black metal valve stems. I know you want to use your OEM sensors but I always sell my OEM wheel/tire setups complete so I need to buy new sensors. There is no programming necessary with these and at a little over $100 they don't break the bank.

The 1 3/8 is exactly what is being recommended for this aftermarket wheel. Thank you for that. Placed an order.

Hey, I had those aftermarket Acorn nuts and would not buy them again. I would use the factory ones and get Audi-style plastic covers they are cheaper and look great.
Why wouldn't you buy them again? What issues did you have with them? They have been on my car for almost 30K miles. They fit well and besides them loosing some of their glossy shine, they are still all black.

I live in Minnesota these aftermarket painted lug nuts rust big time.

Also the aftermarket lugs with the flange to hold on to the factory aero covers didn't fit tightly The arrow covers rattled as you went down the road

I can see that. Have not had that issue here in AZ with lug nuts rusting. I have some (not the same ones) aftermarket lugs on my Tacoma with no rust issues ether.

I'm guessing the salt or whatever they might put on the roads in the winter there would cause parts like that to rust easier? I didn't have that problem here in CA either but I don't drive in the snow.
