For now, the only "MOD" I want is for Ford to remove that 5 sec limit....
If Ford removes the 5 sec limit it’s because they changed the hardware on the car. Best guess is they do that with the mid-cycle refresh in 2024. If they wait until the next gen Mach-E then the GT will continue to be the laughing stock of performance EV crossovers for years.

upon release, the 2021 MME GT was subpar compared to the 2020 Model Y Performance. Now the GT is also behind the 2022 GV60 Performance, 2023 EV6 GT, and soon the 2023 Blazer EV SS.

Laughing stock is a bit harsh. But no question performance past 70 mph sucks.

If anyone rides in it from a stop though, they definitely giggle uncontrollably.

It is frustrating to beat every car on that list from a stop, only to look like we hit the brakes past 60.

Except the Blazer SS, we shall see if/when it catches up with us. If they have the same 8 steps to use full power like the Hummer EV, I ain’t worried.

Just your daily reminder that the EV6 GT did 3.2 to 60 and an 11.4@121 1/4 mile. Plus a 14.8 1 to 130 and top end of 161mph.

I'm confident the Blazer EV SS will beat the MME GT to 60mph and in the quarter-mile. I'd wager too it'll both have more range than the MME GT and also charge faster 10% to 80%. All the other cars I previously listed charge hella faster than the MME but the range on the Mustang is the one metric it's got going for it, especially against the EV6 GT.

206 miles of EPA range for the EV6 is just unacceptably short. It'd be tough to take it skiing in the winter or out into more remote destinations (small towns, camping, National Parks, etc). 200 miles is about 80% of my GT's range without trying so I felt confident taking it camping in the Idaho Rockies.

Refreshed MME GT/PE hopefully has improved performance, no more 5 Second Rule, faster charging, and loses a hundred pounds or two.

What makes you confident it’ll beat us to 60? GM isn’t claiming that and we already know the Cadillac it’s based on isn’t that fast either.

Weight is the enemy. And not many EVs seem to be as aggressive on the launch.

1/4 mile though? Yeah, it’ll likely have caught up before then.

For comparison, the 340hp Lyriq 0-60 is 5.7.https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2023-cadillac-lyriq-450e-debut-edition-first-test-review/amp/

Considerably slower than our Mach E Premium.

GM claiming a 0-60 for the Blazer SS in ā€œunder 4 seconds.ā€

If it were under 3.5, they’d probably brag like Ford did. We shall see though.

Time and technology.

GM will have had plenty of time since the debut of the 2021 MME GT to benchmark test the Blazer EV SS. Secondly, GM's EV tech will be at least a half-generation ahead of the MME's so the drivetrain and battery tech will be more advanced. I'd expect that the Blazer EV SS's announced 557hp and 648lbft of torque will be able to be enough to get it off the line to 60mph quicker than the MME GT and to hold the power for longer than 5 seconds.

Can and will are two different things.

My guess? They’re just a bit more conservative on the launch tuning. Kinda like the dual motor model Y.

Again their target is ā€œunder 4ā€ not ā€œunder 3.5.ā€

Their EV tech is the same generation as the Lyriq. But that’ll affect things like charging speed, not 0-60.

I think is says a lot that a thread ostensibly about GT/GTPE Upgrades has devolved into a discussion about all the car that can/will beat it... ?

Still unclear on what the bits can handle since even select rwd can have HVJB failures. But no doubt that whole thing makes Ford even more gun shy on releasing power.

Notice that it’s been 2 years, Shelby has had PLENTY of time with the car and………. Nothing in terms of power increases has come out.

IF they could pull it off, they would have had an easy money grab with the Shelby model a year ago.
