I've kind of asked this before but can anyone confirm that the driving experience with a GT model, is a lot different than say the Premium model which I have. I really like the "punch" that one gets with driving a Tesla Dual Motor etc, does the GT feel similar? The Premium is quick, but not quick enough for me :) My lease will be up, need to make a decision.

Just test drove a '25 GT recently coming from a Model 3 AWD and found it punchy. Throttle mapping is different but it's fast. ?

It's very different. We just traded my wife's '22 premium ext awd for a '25 GT and her reaction to it was significant. I knew the differences but I'm a car guy and she doesn't notice the differences as easily.

The suspension feels significantly more taught. The seats are better fitting. The tires feel more stable. Throttle mapping is, of course, a significant improvement. Punch is TOTALLY different. Appearance is subjective but it's a total departure IMO.

She's VERY happy with the upgrade. From a lease payment perspective it was 80 bucks more a month for the GT versus the Premium we were looking at. That was a no brainer.

The '25 GT with base wheels (the ugly ones) seem to be estimating over 300 miles to a full charge too...so range doesn't seem to be that far apart...though real world experience there may be different. We haven't yet taken it on a road trip to confirm.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m a fan of the 25 GT black wheels ?

Having owned both a Premium RWD and a GT, the way I put it is this, "The Premium was fast. The GT just wants to do crime!"

I can't speak for the difference from the Tesla (I've only ever driven a Model 3 rental for a week and I couldn't wait to return it!), but the GT is face meltingly quick for 5 seconds before the software limits it to avoid burning out the HVJB as the motors can pull a ridiculous amount of power when they're going all out. (Not sure if this has changed in the '25s though. Ford said they'd added a bunch of extra sensors and better thermal management)

The other big difference with the GT is MagnaRide. It makes a HUGE difference in the ride quality and handling compared to the Premium. In the GT, you can definitely feel the difference between the Whisper and Unbridled modes when it comes to the stiffness of the ride.

Other than those two, the differences are mostly subjective. I like the more aggressive look of the GT but miss the better efficiency of the Premium.

Interesting. I went from a '22 Premium RWD to a '23 GT after my wife totaled the Premium for only slightly more a month because Ford dropped the prices between when the insurance made their offer and I bought the new car. (She was fine; walked away with just some bruising...the car is built like a tank. A VERY fast tank!) I joke that my last car didn't kill her so I got one with twice the power!

Anyway, I find that I preferred the seats in the Premium (especially on road trips), but agree that the GT is punchier and has better suspension.

I mean this with no disrespect, but we joked that the premium seats with lack of bolstering is made for people larger than we are, and we much prefer the bolstering and the Alcantara's grip for a more stable feeling. Cushioning is pretty comparable. The only thing I don't like about the "GPTE" seats are the upper shoulder bolsters. No one needs those and they do nothing but get in the way when you need to reach for something in the back seat.

I don't have a comparison, but with the GT you will not accelerate for 5 seconds unless you are on a track or don't mind going 2x the speed limit. I was giggling driving it for the first 6 months and still have a smile on my face 2 years later. Never drove the Tesla Y, but they are slightly faster (dual motor), but don't look as nice IMO.
The MagneRide would be nice, but a pretty expensive upgrade. However, my wife complains about the ride being too rough, so maybe it's worth it.

If you live in the desert with 80 mph speed limits and you have on-ramps that are longer than 1/4 mile with wide open views in every direction so you can plainly see that there's no 5-0 and there's no other traffic in either direction.... it is very easy to confirm that the 5 second limit has been removed. And Wayne is right, if you want to avoid getting tickets often, you won't "need" to accelerate for longer than 5 seconds. That would be plenty to get you in trouble.

BUT YOU'LL WANT TO. ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.

The GT's lovingly-named 5-second limit died with the 2024 GT. I traded my 2021 GT-PE in on a 2024 GT because of that. ??

Own a ‘21 MME GT (not Performance)
It's rocket with wheels when you need it to be. Very tight cornering on curvy mountain roads. Lots of fun to drive and also very comfortable on long trips.
Ford Mustang Mach-E MACH-E - GT MODEL driving experience? IMG_4138

Range? 300 to 310 in summer, about 250 in winter.

The GT is drastically different from the premium dual motor extended range. The performance upgrade is a must imo. I've beaten Tesla y performance models with mine. Highly recommended!
