Maybe this is saying something.
Yep, when it was just about the only game in town that was doable. First movers get that initial benefit, right? However, with all of the current and upcoming EV options that market share won’t continue. Especially considering Tesla’s propensity for a lack of substantial refreshes and continued $12K!!! fairy tale of FSD etc.

I agree market share will diminish but I think overall sales are still on an increasing trajectory.

As a Tesla owner for nearly 4 years, I can say they make a compelling product. Is it perfect? By no means. Are there some annoyances? Certainly. Is FSD a fairy tale? It seems far from prime time to me... although their regular autopilot is superb and I use it all the time on the freeway.

But a lot of the small issues are what you get with a company that is pushing the boundaries. A push that has resulted in so many of us now able to purchase a Mach E that is fully electric, has OTA updates, and so on.

Not sure why there's so much hate for Tesla except that they've been very successful and their owner is highly controversial.

You kinda answered your own question.

It’s their owner. Combine that with some annoying car owners/fanboys and the baby gets thrown out with the bath water.

Controversy can do major harm to a product. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how good your pizza or chicken is.

Depends on what you mean.

Typically the list of highest volume cars lines right up with my least favorite cars. Boring and high volume seem to go hand in hand.
There is nothing boring about a rental-spec high volume car. Provided you bought the full insurance and have access to an offroad course.
