If the pressure in the cabin is building up you could try cycling the recycle air button in the settings
and see if that relieves the pressure on your ears.

Thanks Homestead. I have tried that but maybe I’ll try it for a longer period of time.

Ok thank you. Then maybe something else?
I spoke to @ScottMcCool who had this issue with the Y and MME and about 6 others with the new Toyota Grand Highlander. Folks think it is low frequency audio around 20 Hz. There’s a couple of videos by GH owners who have recordings of it and others can hear and feel like pain using Bose noise canceling headphones. Supposedly the Savage geese review of the GH around the 5min mark has the low cabin boom if you listen with headphones.

Some folks are more susceptible to this issue.

I usually am one of those people. But I do use Whisper and have at least some sort of air coming through the cabin. I wonder if it could be negative pressure from the B&O sub that vents out of the wheel well. That well could cause negative pressure in the cabin. Many a freeair sub has come into play with cars lately. If I had to venture a guess I'd point at that.
I have too many hearing issues to list but thankfully I've never noticed a low pressure in my cars.
It doesn’t have active noise canceling.
Not yet, but I'm really trying to make it a reality.

I posted this on another thread but thought it would be pertinent to this one:
https://www.macheforum.com/site/posts/797741/bookmark
Don’t think that link worked. Here’s a copy:

So Ford disconnected my amp and although I will need to drive more it does appear that my ears appreciated it greatly. They will reconnect the amp for free but now I need to figure out what to do next. Would reconnecting the amp and disconnecting the subwoofer make a difference? I’m not sure it would. I can do that physically or can that be done with FORScan maybe (disabling the sub)? I did get by obd working with FORScan on my laptop but I haven’t messed with it yet. In the “Mach e” hurts my ears” thread someone mentioned something about the free air sub:

“I wonder if it could be negative pressure from the B&O sub that vents out of the wheel well. That well could cause negative pressure in the cabin. Many a freeair sub has come into play with cars lately.”

Anyway baby steps. Thanks again Homestead for suggesting this as the possible problem.

Would there be a way to seal that wheel well off even if I imagine I would lose the subwoofer?

Yes it can be done. You’d need to get access to the sub, which is loosening that panel. You don’t have to remove the panel as it’s a pain, but once you remove the sub, you could apply Dynamat to ‘plug’ the hole.
The yellow arrow points to where the backside of the woofer vents to the wheel well,

that's what you would want to seal off if you wanted to try to keep the speaker. Even plugged the woofer will still function, just not as low of tones. I haven't foundry other 'vents' in my poking around that could cause what you are dealing with. BTW have you tried running the fan on 1 not on recirc?

From the looks of it that is the only 'vent' in this car to the outside. The repair manual mentions:

NOTICE: The door windows must be left open during the adhesive curing time.
Open the vehicle windows to prevent the air pressure of closing doors from compromising the urethane adhesive bond.

Meaning there could be enough pressure from closing the door to cause adhesive to get pushed out like toothpaste. Yikes! But it makes sense as you wouldn't want to hear the road from wherever the little flappy flaps they used to install would be. It'd look like a small box with a plastic flap like a doggie door. Explains why the AC always reverts to fresh air intake. Any chance your car was ever in an accident?

Pretty sure not. It was the manager’s car. Demo with 4500 miles but no record of anything.

But you never know. When you mentioned repair manual is that referring to the dynamite?
