Mach E Rear End Collision

Well……I’ve had the Mach-E for a few months now and the universe says that we cannot have nice things! Dead stop and rear ended by a RAV4. Does anyone have any recent experience with parts ETA on the Mach-E? Looks like I’ll be needing the Trunk Shell, upper & lower bumper and a side fender. Why do I feel like this is gonna take forever?

Just wait until the shop starts to take things apart and realize that more parts need ordering.

I was broadsided last October. It took close to two months for 2 doors to arrive. Then MME was out-of-service for 6 weeks (which IIRC included two additional parts orders contributing to the delay).

BTW, my car was less then 5 months and 5k miles old at the time of incident (parked hit & run). My insurance gave me extra money on top of the claim for diminished value of an essentially new car.

I had a similar accident in April..sorry for you..know how you feel.
I was in a 3 car wreck..interstate..typical choke point coming up with frequent come to a complete damn stop type of traffic. Car 1 knocks the HELL out of car 2..we had both stopped but the impact drove 2 into me ((
The longest wait was the insurance determination..It took over a month for car 2's insurance determined it was car 1's fault, since we had both stopped..car 1 was uninsured..I had to file on my uninsured motorist policy.
After all that..it took about a week for the lower bumper and new sensors to come in..shop had it Monday..I picked it up Friday.
Hopefully you will have a similar outcome!

Stay on top of your dealer. I had exactly the same kind of accident. It took them 6 weeks to even ORDER the parts the insurance deemed I had to call five times just to stay top of mind on then. When I took it in, they of course realized there was more parts needed. The bumper took 6 weeks. It’s been in the shop now 9 weeks and still not done. I stop by, check on it, see issues, they work some more.
Stay on top of the dealer however you can, especially text since it’s a nice log you’ll have with dates and times.

Be sure the body shop sends it back to service to calibrate the sensors after the new one goes in. While it’s there though, if you ask nicely, they may do all the updates available. I’m working on that.

Similar accident to yours, but a little less damage. They had to replace the lift gate, the struts, and the bumper cover, and then they had to paint it all of course. It was fine to drive, so I made them order the parts before I brought it in. I took it in when they had the parts, and then the takedown began and they found more and more as they went on. All small stuff—a special clip here, a wiring harness there—but it was six weeks from the day I brought it in to the day I left. My insurance agent said that at the time (October 2021) that was really typical due to covid issues and supply chain delays. I’m hoping yours will be less, but I’m guessing you’re looking at least three to four weeks out.

Wow, that really sucks. Long wait time and it is not going to be cheap. The tailgate and garage door scenario happened to me and the paint was "rubbed" off the rear tailgate. I have a great body shop that does not do it half way. For the tailgate to be painted, without putting clear coat lines, you have to pull off the glass and taillights. This was $2200. My car now has a AOSK rear spoiler for $99. I can live with the small paint damage hidden under the spoiler.

I just got rear ended on the way home. Bumper, and lift gate broken. No idea what else. Did you all take car to Ford or wait for other drivers company to reach out. Also did they provide you all with a rental?

It could have been worse. This am I was able to look at it closer.

Hate to see all these damaged cars. I got hit waiting to turn into my kids’ school lot this week. Guy in his older pickup didn’t even stop. Fortunately it appears only the gloss black trim at the lower rear is scratched and scuffed; the iced blue silver pieces escaped. Why can’t people pay attention when driving?

Well not even two months after getting rear ended (still not fixed), the front of the car got struck by a 500lb falling object off a flatbed. I swear this car is cursed.
