I'm planning to order a Mach-E Select online, and sent a few questions to several dealers in my area to help me decide who to do it through (X-Plan, ADM, Dealer Fees, etc.). A couple dealers have told me that the 2022 Order Book is closed for the Select trim, and cannot proceed until 2023 opens up. Others have responded with no such mention.

What exactly is going on? Why are some saying ordering is closed when it can still be done online? What would happen if I did an online order through one of these dealers anyways?

Thanks in advance for any insight this community can provide.

Selects and GTs can still be ordered.

X-Plan gives you $100 max paperwork fee. ADM is irrelevant for a dealer that accepts X-Plan.

I'm aware of that, but why are some dealers telling me that I can't order Select? What happens if I ignore them and choose their dealership anyways during the online order?

Either they are incompetent, ignorant, or they know something. I would expect them to not accept your order.

THEY may not be able to order because they don't have any more allocation from Ford. If you still order from them they may not accept your order or they may accept your order but you'll have to wait even longer for the dealer to get more units allocated from Ford. I would try a different dealer.

Okay, thanks all. I wasn't aware that dealers had different allocations. I will try a different dealer.

Yes they can have different allocations but more likely they have used up their allocation ; therefore, they can’t order any themselves and you may end up at a lower priority if you order through them.
