My 2022 Mach E premium literally shut down 8/17/23, had to get it towed to the ford dealership only to be told there is nothing wrong with my car. This past weekend, I went to the store came out to my car opened the back loaded up my purchases closed the back, and put my cart back. In the less than 60 seconds it took me to take my cart back my car was completed shut down, side mirrors folded in and blinking, and a kicking sound was coming from the car........

I spent hours in the parking lot, only for ford to tell "Sorry your car looks fine on the computers here, you need to get it towed to the dealership". I finally opened the frunk and tried to jump my car which got it to turn back on. I bought a new battery as well, but when I had the old battery checked they said the battery was good......... I checked the recalls and my VIN isn't part of any recall..........

Please does anyone know why this is happening? Or what I am doing wrong..........I can't have a car that will just shut down whenever for no reason, leaving me stranded. and ford telling me they have no clue.

Did you go to the dealership or not? It sounds like you need to have them check it out.

What you describe is a low 12V battery. Charging it up, it's fine. If you're driving it regularly AND charging it regularly, it should be charged up just fine. If you're not, that's your answer.

as Rick suggests, check the state of charge of your 12v battery. To do this you can go to ford.com log into your account upper right corner click on person icon, then click on "........account" NOT "vehicle dashboard", the screen will bring up 12 v battery state of charge. Ideally you should see it range from 80-95%. less than that could indicate a failing battery.
Also, it's a good idea to not use "accessory mode" in the car more than you have to as this discharges the 12v battery.

Thank you for responding.

Ford had my car in august 2023 when this first happened for almost 2 weeks trying to find out why my car shut down and couldn't tell me anything so I am hesitant to take it back when they already told me they have no idea what is wrong with my car. I don't know maybe my dealership is the issue.

Yes, dealer is likely an issue. One thing I’d recommend is looking for advice on this forum about competent dealers in your area. Where do you live?

Thank you for responding. I checked on my account at my battery is 99%. I appreciate the information from you. I have gotten more information in this thread than from anyone at my dealership, or ford after hours at the dealership and hours on the phone with Ford. Much thanks!!!
