I love everything about my 2022 Premium except:
-the suspension
-the suspension
-no pre-condition button
-the suspension

My daughter has to ride in the front because she gets carsick in the back with all the bone-rattling bumps.

Beyond that, it's my favorite car I've ever owned. So it's kind of amusing to read about how Ford carefully designed the absolute worst part of an otherwise great car.
And the reason 53+ people on this forum have replaced their springs with the OEM Rally's. That and the Eibach Sway Bars give you a car the rides better, handles better and has about 1" more ground clearance. Average cost has been $2000 total which is not cheap but if you plan to keep the car a few years, it might be worth it. At least 1/4 of our members have done the installation themselves saving about $1000.

Hmm, maybe worth investigating more, thanks. I've seen some people on the forum talk about it but I'm not really a "mess with my car" kind of guy - biggest thing I've ever done is add an audio aux input to an early 2000s Accord 20 years ago so I could listen to my iPod! Scared to make that large a change to my car but at least worth investigating...

There have been a few reviews from members here that said their kids no longer get sick in the back seat:

I have a 2025 MME Premium, Sport Appearance Package and extended range battery.

Have the suspensions undergone any changes over time? I ask because many hate the ride but I don't have any problem with it in my Premium model.

2025 was when Ford changed the suspension on all models but the GT. They did the GT in 2024. Your springs are softer giving you a smoother ride, shocks are firmer reducing the bounce. The Rally Springs are softer yet but now the difference is not nearly as much.

I have had an early build 2023 Premium for over three years and the suspension continues to be the worst feature of the Mach E. My wife will not ride in the back seat. This is after replacing the rear shocks with Koni's. The Koni's helped a little but not nearly enough.

Even my dog gets car sick in the Mach E but not in our other car - a 2024 Lexus NX 450H+. I thought about the Rally springs mod, but at this point do not want to invest another 2K+ in the car.

Except for the suspension and the stupid lack of a mechanical means to enter the car with a nearly dead or sick 12V system, the Mach E would be a good car.

Just wanted to clarify Lou, that unless the car is LOCKED you can open any door with a completely dead battery. All the doors have a backup capacitor that allows you to open them with a dead battery and even no battery. If the car is locked when a battery is going dead or is dead, you have 12 minutes to unlock the car and open a door. Only after 12 minutes of turning off the locked car with a dead battery are you unable to open a door.

Hi Mark,

Thanks, I was aware of all that including the 12 minute grace period. The Lexus has the same type of electronic door operation but includes a small mechanical key in each keyfob which can be used in the case of a lockout. The keyhole is hidden under the driver's door handle so does not interfer with the "all electronic" look of the car :-(

Hi Brian not AI (@Ford Motor Company) -- thanks for one of your promised deep-dives

It probably hasn't escaped your notice: there's a pretty big difference between what your engineers were targeting, and what your customers are actually experiencing. Or maybe there's not: we're just the vocal minority?

To me, engineering is a Venn diagram (with all the overlapping circles). One circle for "Comfort". One circle for "Sporty like a Mustang". One for "Can handle an EV's weight and dynamics". And a few others for cost, reliability, etc. etc.

The solution is right in the middle where all the circles overlap. Maybe it's a really small target. Maybe there isn't any overlap. Getting this sort of insight is interesting to me...

Cause your in the front seat😆 It was worth it to me, but it's an individual choice 🤘

My wife has ridden in the back seat and had no complaints. There are other back seats she's gotten queasy in.

YMMV

Right. I don’t know if the 2026 changed anything, but the older GT suspension is the worst part of the car. Look at everyone spending thousands to change out the suspension, not to have a better track day, but simply to enjoy the ride on regular roads. It’s a pretty hard putt to spin the GT suspension as a feature of the car.
2024 changed the GT. There's no more non-Magneride GT as of the 2024 model year. The GT essentially became the GT-PE with the GT's power level. The optional Performance Upgrade put the 2024+ GT in a higher torque neighborhood than the 2021-2023 GT-PE. 😁🐩

For the non-Magneride models, 2025 saw revised spring and damping packages. The 2025+ supposedly ride better than the 2021-2024 due to those changes. 🤔🐩

In my 2022 Premium, when I drive very slowly over a small speed bump by my kids' school, it feels like an earthquake every time.
