thanks for the info, attached is what Ford sent me, same as yours?

pic.jpg
That is not a Tesla Supercharger adapter. It is a Tesla to J-1772 adapter, which only works with Tesla AC (Destination or Home) EVSEs. It is also not a Ford-branded adapter, so unlikely it was sent to you directly by Ford Corporate. Was this given to you by the dealer and not by Ford Corporate? What you need at a Supercharger is a Tesla to CCS-1 DC adapter. ??

This adapter will not work with any supercharger ever.

Try here:
Ford adapter
or here:
A2Z adapter
or here:
Lectron adapter

As @HuntingPudel stated, the adapter picture that you attached is for the "slow" AC Tesla destination chargers for home, hotels, shopping malls, etc. We need two different adapters to use with our CCS cars where Tesla combines both functions into their single plug.

Two things about using the NACS adapter:

1. I received 2 free NACS adapters for my '23 Mach E about 1 week apart from each other (after waiting more than a year after I had placed the order). When I called Ford to ask what to do with the extra adapter, they told me that they learned that the first one they sent me wouldn't work, so they sent me the 2nd one. I took them both to a Tesla Supercharger and found that, indeed, one worked and the other didn't.

2. The adapter I received only works on Tesla chargers that are rated at 250KW and 350 KW. It won't work on chargers with lower KW ratings, and you can't tell what the rating of a charger is by looking at it (there aren't labels on any of the chargers near me).

BTW - I charged at a 250KW charger, but the charging rate was only 85KW. This wasn't a problem for me at the time, but you need to know that you won't necessarily get the nominal charging rate at a Tesla Supercharger.
1) That makes no sense. The only Ford adapters that were "recalled" were a June shipment.

2) Posted often, lots of confusion. NO ADAPTER MADE works on the older SuperChargers. You don't need to tell anything by looking at a SuperCharger, you simply need to follow the directions supplied with your adapter and USE THE APPs, which will only show you compatible locations WHEN USED PROPERLY. Not all 250kW or 350kW locations are compatible either...

BTW - Depends on your level of charge, and the temp of your battery. You should get 125 or so at a low SOC, just like an EA charger.

Hence why you have failed charging at a Supercharger....

Don't know what that means. You've only shown one picture of an adapter, and it's an off-brand level 2 adapter.

I'd like to add that PlugShare will show you if a Tesla station is compatible with non-Teslas. I've been using it to play my next road trip and scout for compatible charging stations.
Yes, PlugShare has that information and it is usually correct. However, the information in PlugShare isn't as reliable as the information in the Tesla app.

Ditto for Ford's Public Charging app.

Sorry but it is quite likely Ford Corporate sent this out -- with a Lightning.

How did you come up with that? Ford Corporate never sent anything like this. Ever. The *ONLY* adapters Ford ever sent to a Lightning customer have been the Tesla-made adapters, followed by the current ones from Lectron.

If this came from a Ford dealer, it's plausible, that their aftermarket parts department may stock these for L2 charging. And OP seems to have it straight now that this is an adapter he bought prior, just got confused.

absolutely came from Ford Corporate, they sent an email saying it was on its way, took forever but I have it, and it was free. Will try it in the next few days.

The Level 2 Tesla to J-1772 charging adapter pictured above made by EVDANCE is for AC Level 2 and not for DCFC level 3.

You can use the same Tesla Find Us link to locate Tesla Level 2 destination chargers.

Ford Mustang Mach-E MACH-E- Tesla Adaptor 1742960470000-hf

Tesla Find Us Superchargers available with adapter / Magicdock location Chargers

For level 2 AC - I personally bought the 48 amp Lectron and gave it away to a forum member and prefer to use the 80 amp A2Z Stellar with built in lock and compact design.

I would recommend sticking with known brands like Lectron, A2Z and TeslaTap for your Level 2 AC adapter.

I would recommend the A2Z Stellar NACS to J-1772 adapter which is available for $88, compact build, has a built in lock, good customer service / warranty and overbuilt for futureproofing.

The level 2 adapter will pay for it self overtime by avoiding an expensive fast charge on the road every night while you sleep at the hotel with Tesla destination charging.

You can't use your Level 2 EVDANCE AC Tesla to J-1772 adapter for DC Fast Charging (DCFC). PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS.

For DCFC I personally use the A2Z Typhoon pro and OEM Tesla adapter. I like to have a back-up adapter with me at all times.

After trying the Typhoon Pro, Typhoon and Ford / Tesla OEM adapter. Here are my thoughts on them.

They all work great and beats having to use Electrify America. The most user friendly is the Typhoon pro due to the single switch to control the CCS side and NACS side. I also like how easy it is to hold the Typhoon pro securely. The lip on the NACS side is a nice touch to make sure the adapter doesn’t slip out of your hand.

The Ford / OEM Tesla dual latch is a little more user friendly compared to original Typhoon but a little harder to grip securely while toggling both the latches. I think grip tape might be nice to have as long as it doesn’t mess with thermals.

You can buy the original Tesla OEM adapter from Rivian for $250 with free shipping BUT NO RETURNS ALLOWED.

https://rivian.com/gear-shop/p/nacs-dc-adapter

I personally keep both the OEM Tesla adapter and A2Z Stellar AC / Typhoon Pro DCFC adapter to have myself covered at all times.

This ensures I have a backup always and I can charge at Tesla Destination chargers commonly found at hotels / shopping center / parking lots.

If you need one ASAP in 2 - 3 week time you can always order the A2Z Typhoon Pro Level 3 DCFC adapter using the forum discount code "FORD", one of the most popular adapters currently being used by Rivian owners, F-150 lightning owners, GMC / Chevy Owner and Mustang Mach-E owners.

Discount promo code “FORD” is still working and free shipping is also available.

You can bundle the A2Z Stellar AC Tesla to J-1772 for $88 additional after discount by adding both into your cart.

DCFC Level 3 - 500A

A2Z EV NACS to CCS1 Adapter for Ford - Save 5% / Free Shipping + bundle the A2Z Stellar AC NACS to J-1772 adapter for $88 additional after discount code "FORD".

AC Level 2 - 80A

A2ZEV NACS To J1772 adapter (Hotel Destination Charger for Hotels / Shopping centers) | Up to 80A | 20kW | 12 Months Warranty

Here is a good example of 10+ free level 2 AC Tesla destination chargers 8 kW - 16kW charging available at a grocery store only if you have an adapter. This is commonly found at malls, shopping center, movie theaters, etc.

The Rivian you see is using DCFC level 3 with an adapter
