It hurts to see it :( but good to know that the car protected you well.

How do you know he was drunk?
Driver and passenger got out, both slurring speech. They were also in onesies, having just left the nearby onesie pub crawl. They mentioned drinking and immediately started talking about running to avoid the DUI.

We were rear ended last Aug, looked a little worse than yours but not much…$10,600 to repair. Other car was totaled. Still dealing with accident related injuries, glad it sounds like you are OK, but get checked out anyway. Will be covered by PIP and then your insurance will get their insurance to pay.

Don’t forget diminished value and pain and suffering to collect $.

good luck, still dealing with ours after 5 months

I'm not sure of the extent of the damage yet, but my Mach E was hit pretty hard by a drunk driver while stopped at a stop sign tonight. It did a good job protecting us, so I'll give it that. Part of the undercarriage is flexed downward, and I don't think it involved battery, but am not sure. I'm leaving it outside overnight just to be safe. It is driving a little unsteady, so I'm sure there is damage into the rear wheels or frame. Depending on the insurance estimate, I may not be needing that door after all. On the plus side, hey, one of those hidden ponies is now easy to see....

I'm working on diminished value, since EVs are already taking a bit hit on value even without accidents. I have to track down the other insurance, however.

I'm almost done with this saga. My new estimate is closer to $9000, and I have the other driver's info and insurance and will likely get my deductible back at some point. It was a mess, and shouldn't have been as difficult as it was, but sometimes people try and use personal connections to avoid responsibility...

Yeah, ours was $10.5K to fix our Mach E. That wasn't an issue. I'm trying to get Dim Value of around $10K but they have only offered $1K so far. Might have to take them to small claims court this summer.

My car is now fully repaired, and the shop actually did a great job from what I can see. I'm currently working on a diminished value claim.

Has anyone had to deal with SCA handling this part? From reading online reviews, I think I'm going to be very happy that they weren't the initial estimator, because they seem to seriously lowball and then ghost people. The other party's insurance states they use them to find the value for the claim. They'll have to rely on my body shop bill and any photos from the shop to come to their amount.

So, the clues were less than subtle. I'm glad you're not injured. Good luck!
