Well, both high-performance and low-performance vehicles need to be produced at low cost. A modern vehicle platform should have the flexibility to encompass a broad spectrum of performance levels, each produced cost-effectively.
Ford has established the Mach-E as an up-scale offering, nothing wrong with a low-cost Ford EV, but rather than castrating the Mach-E, give it a different name, such as the Probe-E.
It was the consumer/owners that prevented the Mazda Mustang...

This has been a most enjoyable thread. My take; we know these awesome cars can take us well into the 300k range and still drive like they're new. I am so grateful I found my beautiful '23 AWD extended with crazy low miles back in January. Other than missing the liftgate toe-kick feature, even tho the graphic for it is there (I think my Aug build might have been the first round to drop it) I feel like the '23 was the last year before they started heavily decontenting. If, god forbid, it got totalled, I'd buy another without even thinking about it. Nothing currently out there appeals to me, at all. So I, too, plan to enjoy driving my MME until one of us dies.
I have a 23.5 AWD ER and tend to agree with you that 23.5 seems to be a sweet spot in the non-GT version evolution. My mid July build doesn’t have the kick to open lift gate either. Although they were short of chips, they had stickers to burn😎.
