Option plan is looking good. Many if not most MMEs may be worth less than ballon note.
guess not many people if any have had their balloon note due yet
Mine comes due May-24. Looking forward to hearing from other's who come due before me ?

I don’t see any of those features listed anymore on the ā€˜23 so you must be mistaken on the features I’m talking about.

Park Assist is where the car will park itself in a spot. Not the parking sensing beep thing.

The laminated glass never got deleted from the windshield, the ā€˜21 Premium had laminated acoustic glass on the side windows for front seats, that is no longer listed.

I also no longer see the kick to open liftgate mentioned. Unless that’s not specified on the spec page.

You might be right actually. I looked at the windshield, doesnt park itself, and dont know about the liftgate. Still doesnt bug me but do wonder why it was removed. Thx for info.

I believe the removal of these options were initially due to supply chain issues during the pandemic. Why they have not been restored, well, probably increases Ford's profit margin.

They kept them out so that they could reduce MSRP and advertise that.

At the same time they threw in 360 cameras (something us 2021 people paid $1900 for) for FREE.

Would only have increased profit margins if they removed options and kept the price higher.

It’s not as malicious as you thought. Quite the opposite actually.

One member here reported that his car now includes kick to open and self parking features now. I think his build date was in july of this year. So it looks like Ford is adding these features back.

Interesting……. More freebies I guess?

People seem to forget about these things.

People got hardware for free! Others got Bluecruise trials for free.

Some even got free paint correction and dent repair for free.

Many got unexpected price REDUCTIONS (price dropped between order and delivery time). Heck, even before the FIRST Mach Es were delivered, the price dropped a few grand.

So I find it a little funny when people assume Ford is trying to hose them on price somehow.

Yep. Job 1 2021 model here and I got an extended free BlueCruise trial through December 2023 and last November they gave me 3 free years of Dent/Tire/Windshield Care for being an early adopter. FWIW, I've used the DentCare coverage for 3 dings—including the infamous charge door over-extension dent that many MMEs get—and they did a great job.

Kick-to-open reappearing is surprising as I thought they had removed it—at least partially—because it was unreliable. I ended up turning it off on mine after it damaged my tailgate against my garage door when it phantom-opened one night. Ford Warranty actually comp'ed an $800 re-painting to repair the large scratch it caused.

I also don't see it listed on the Ford web site as a feature today.

Archive.org from 2021 showing it, but current site just has "Power liftgate": https://web.archive.org/web/20210821075056/https://www.ford.com/suvs/mach-e/models/mach-e-premium/

Good for you, probably a good call. The tailgate feature is iffy at best. My 2021 is a ticking time stink bomb. So much potential and so good at times but never stays good for long.

Last year my premium SR RWD was selling online for $50k. I am selling it on Sunday for $28k with Carvana with 27K miles. Never again buying a Ford. Picking up a GV60 performance tomorrow.
That's too bad you hate Ford now, I do not think it's mostly Ford's fault. All cars, not just the MME, regardless of the manufacturer, had crazy price swings the past 2-3 years. Carvana and the like scooped up as many MME's and other cars as possible (at any cost) to control the supplies and make large profits during supply chain issues, high market demand, and low interest rates. Their play drove up the cost to the end consumer even more. Today's used pricing is the fall out. It was very risky to buy during this time, which is why we see posts of MME owners making $10,000 flipping a car during this time. The flip side of buying during that risky time is loosing far more in depreciation dollars when it's time to sell. Plus, now it costs much more to borrow money on the used market than it did a year or two ago, increasing the rate of depreciation.

Sounds like getting a year-old MME might be the best strategy. And those overpriced maintenance agreements might cost little enough to make that low price worth it.

ps - My five year old RAV4 may finally be worth less than what I paid for it. And oh yes, its been in the shop once a year for an oil change.
Agreed. I bought a 21 PremiumX in April, same price range as today's used market, and then added a transferable $2,000 Ford PremiumCare service for 125k/9yr.

June '23, my '22 Lightning was traded in as 1 year old with 10,500 miles.

I got $66K trade with a sticker of $67K.

I also got the $7500 tax credit refunded and $2000 state rebate so I made money on mine.
Just remember those State rebates have a 3 year mandatory Ownership clause, or you are supposed to pay them back....Your State may vary......
