I know that once you are using ACC/ICC they will take the vehicle down to 0 and back to set speed once traffic allows. Traditional cruise typically can't be set before you reach 25 mph. Does that apply to the MME?

15mph minimum on MME. You can however set it at a stop or lower than 15mph if you have a car in front of you - but minimum set speed is 15mph.

Yep. In other words, you can enable cruise control no matter what speed the car is at. However, if you set it when the car is slower than 15mph, it will be set to 15mph, not the actual speed.

Unless you're stopped with no cars in front of you. Then you can't set it. If a car is in front of you, you can.

Just a reminder, the Owner's Manual is available on your phone using the FordPass app, in the car, and for download here:

It takes less time to look something like this up in the pdf than it does to post yet another question answered in the manual.

Thanks for the info. I wanted to also get some real world perspective on system operation.
As we know, everything doesn't always work exactly the way the manual says it does. ;)

Does the system require any input from the driver to start moving from a dead stop, or will it start as soon as the lead vehicle moves?
My apologies if that is on the next page of the manual.

If within 3 seconds, it will start as soon as the lead vehicle moves. Otherwise, you have to press cruise control resume button or press the go pedal.

In practice, there are two scenarios:

  • Traffic light. Personally, I found that cruise control in Mach E doesn't accelerate aggressively enough from complete stop. So I would want to modulate the acceleration myself anyways. I remember that some one else complained that Mach E accelerates from complete stop too aggressively, so there's probably no way Ford can appease everyone on this.
  • Traffic jam. The cruise control decelerates extremely gently when approaching zero. Therefore, it's infrequent for the car to come to a complete stop. As a result, the driver hardly has to intervene.

Yes. It works like the manual says.
