Ford EV plans are all over the place at the moment and that is taking into account classic Ford mentality of there is a plan, until the the next day when it is a different plan lol.

As for the mach-e happy to be proved wrong but I doubt you will seen any major updates or a gen 2.0, all you will probably get is a ncas charge port, the 2025 has had some updates to go along with the years of steady bean counting discontenting so take it for what it is.

If you find a 2025 or early used mach-e ticks your boxes and can get a good deal on one then go ahead get it drive it into the ground and get your enjoyment and money worth out for what it is if there is a gen 2 then great, but I wouldn't wait for one as Ford appears to have thrown all its ev eggs into what ever the new smaller EV will be coming out of the skunkworks, while they leave the rest to wither and die on the vine in classic Ford fashion.
I think you have a great point. For the next 4 yrs, the focus will not be on a transition from the old tech but a last gasp of the oil people. In Canada, I hope we remove tariffs on the Chinese EV's so we can still move forward. The 100% tariff was nothing more than a move to appease the US and what did it them them. More tariffs on them

No politics, the tariff is a fact. I certainly hope that when you speak facts, they do not sensor facts. Tariffs are here to stay in the industry that is already behind an 8 ball.
"Tariffs" and tough talk are part of the game. We're seeing what "the art of the deal" is all about. We're dealing with a "one-trick pony." The game board gets overturned, pieces slowly get replaced and moved around. Nothing really gets accomplished, apart from slowly replacing pieces, moving them around, etc.

Your fact is correct. However, IMO your added opinion that tariffs are here to stay does move to a slightly political message by implication. The 8-ball opinion not so much.

Less than one month since Jan 20 and what has been in the news? I was hoping for more tech movement on batteries, efficiencies etc. Still looking for that but that does not seem to be the focus. What is Ford doing now? Any advancements or just another plug for the "skunkworks" team. Talk is cheap, lets see action. This goes for companies like Tesla as well. Self driving cars are suppose to be the norm by now but there still seems to be some years away. Maybe less time working DOGE and more time spend at his paying day job.

Oh the current one pays…..
Last time I checked, his DOGE job is killing his car company. Tesla's numbers are terrible, some based on competition, some due to his actions. The world is starting to reject his antics

lol... $50K off?
Yes.

Sticker was over 66k, I got it for under 17k. Got it there because the price was under 25k, and the government gave me 8k for buying a used EV. 4k federal, 4k from the state.

The incredible depreciation and incentives sealed the deal for me on this one.

Major restyling efforts cost money. Years of R&D go into making a totally new model (especially if that model is not on an existing vehicle platform.). Redesigns mean they have to remake the “machines that make the machines” (new tooling is needed). You want to milk as much as you can before you have to do that.

In other news … I just saw a Mach-E here in Dearborn but It was making a left turn in front of me … and I noticed the front turn signals are now “segmented”. E.g. on both my Mach-E’s the turn signals light up and then fade away from inside to outside in a nice fluid motion. This Mach-E turn signals just had 3 segments and switched off one segment at a time. (Maybe that’s how it works on the Select edition). I’ve never actually seen that before as every time I’m near a Mach-E (and I see a LOT of them) the turn signals are the same as on my cars.

Is this a new change or has the Select trim always been this way?

The Mach E interior and exterior “styling” is already pretty much perfect.

Meaningful improvements like faster charging architecture, a snappier interface, and more autonomous driving are likely 2-3 years down the road, if Ford even decides to overhaul the Mach E.

That’s a 2024 or newer. Ford calls them “Tri-Bar Headlights.” ??

This has probably been asked before but any rumours of a major refresh to the MachE? The looks and feel have been around now for 4 model years that seem to be the max time line before a refresh.

Looks like all cars to be made in the great USA for Ford. Canada to open up EV's from China to replace the big three. Anyone jealous that Canadians get these tech advance cheap costing cars?

The architecture and chassis haven't changed but improvements over four years add up to a big cumulative difference between MYs 2021 and 2025:

- New rear motor (from the F150) adds 24 hp (+7%) and improves range (4wd models)
- 12% cumulative increase in range (4wd models)
- Ventilated seats
- Huge advances in blue cruise capability
- Improved suspension
- Relocated shifter provides more storage space between the two front seats
- Significant price reduction (MY25 price reduced by over $3k alone). My '22 stickered in the mid-60's and a new '25 costs way less - especially on a lease deal.
- Frequent, free OTA software upgrades

On paper these and other improvements really add up. I am not normally a big Ford booster but the lease on my '22 Premium 4wd is up in July and I will definitely consider getting another one.
