How many of your previous cars had a modem?
Since you asked... my BMW has a TCU (for Connectivity, BMW Assist/SOS, but also loops in BT). If I had iDrive it would include connectivity for that as well (but alas, I wanted a single-hump dash).

Looks like I have the same problem as OP. The issue occurred after an update was triggered on 12/5/23. My Blue Cruise expired later that month and viola… no updates are coming through nor is the Ford App working. the dealerships are useless so far and ordered a gateway node (Assuming this is the TCU others referred too). This clearly isn’t a TCU issue and the only reason that may fix the problem is a new TCU is the same as a factory reset and registration.

Has anyone had any luck resolving the issue other than pulling fuse 21/22?

Mines been at the dealer for 5 weeks for bluecruise not working. They’ve done a bunch of updates and replaced the eu sensor and it’s still not working. Before k brought it to them bluecruise was not showing up in connected services. Dealer still waiting on a call from Ford engineers for the past two weeks

Ugh that's a nightmare. Do you mind if I ask what you are doing for transportation while the car sits there not being worked on?

Quick update on my earlier post... After leaving the car for over a week at a dealership, I took the car to a 2nd dealership and the experience was far worse. At least 2 days to look at the car and 2-3 days for the return call from Techline to diagnose the issue. Zero empathy from the rep. So I am without a car for at least 5 days because of Ford's process. What's worse... is they probably can't order the correct parts even after it's diagnosed.

I am not going to leave the car for a week again. I emailed a few folks at Ford, but let's face it... This ain't getting resolved until I turn the car back in to the dealer and buy a Tesla or something else. So sad because I love this car.

2nd Dealer is AutoNation Ford of Valencia, CA. I highly recommend going... anywhere else...

I read a forum post yesterday that mentioned pulling the 21/22 fuse. Guess what??? It worked. All my connected services came back online. Hoping I get software updates now but the Update Now button was grayed out. At least it's not appearing to be a bad TCU. Shouldn't dealers know this? No one had a clue at the dealership, I actually texted the service tech yesterday to tell him.
I subscribed just to thank you for this. I had the exact same symptoms on my GT but removing the 21/22 fuse did the trick.

At least you had a car. I went through hell with my repair and eventually I folded and paid the $100 for a new modem (which I am sure was not defective). It's working now, but Ford did their absolute best to make sure I don't want another Mach E.

Thanks to DKSTUDIO above. I spent an hour troubleshooting BlueCruise with Ford and was told I had to go to a dealer to reset the modem. The dealer told me it would take 2 hours. I found and unplugged the 21/22 fuse and everything started working. I'm going to write Ford.

Hi y'all. I created an account here because I'm experiencing the same issue on my Mach-E Select that's less than 2 month old and need help :(

My question is- when you pull out the 21/22 fuse to reset the modem, are you pulling it from the frunk fuse box or the passenger side cabin box? Also, are you disconnecting the 12v battery as well?

The guys at the Ford dealer told me that the communications module is on nationwide backorder and no clue when mine will arrive. I don't want to wait potentially months! I told him I read about the 21/22 fuse on a forum and he just said he wouldn't go yanking fuses out of my car

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

I'm experiencing similar problems as this. Were you able to get it working after pulling out the fuse?
