This was the first thing I tested with my Select when I bought it. I took it down town, all granite curbs and packed with tourists One evening. I let my 22 year old son drive. The car had 200 miles on it. We found a spot and turned the system on. The car was 1/2 way into the spot when my son could not handle the stress of it. He put the car in park, got out and made me drive from there. Of course it worked perfectly. I parked in 5 more spaces and it blew me away, perfection everywhere. It’s great on a hill too.

I had this feature on my FordFusion few years back.. used it a lot. Works great every single time! Few times, I got many compliments for perfect parallel parking when I got out.. ! (They removed the feature from Fusion couple of years back.. I guess they were waiting for Mach E to bring it back!.)

There was a parallel parking spot on a neighborhood street, and the only remaining spot for quite a ways. As I'm coming from a bit of a smaller car, I didn't quite trust myself to do without a bit of tenseness.

So I gave the self-park feature a shot. It worked flawlessly. The Mach-E did it in a single shot backing in and a small scoot forward. ? I'm definitely impressed.

I've just had to get used to the sequence of steps necessary for selecting the spot I want (press the Self-Park button, signal and drive forward to the sufficient distance past the target spot.) The Mustang also has a tendency to move too close to the car in front at the end of self-parking. I prefer scooting backward to be equally spaced between the front and back cars.

Meanwhile down the street... (they must not have been using Auto Pilot ?‍♂ )

Yo! Very nice. I ordered a MME AWD ER Premium and was wondering, do I have this feature. Locals here in Hawaii like to back into parking spaces @ the mall. Makes it easier to leave.??

I can tell you from experience, Ford knows what it's doing with the self park. Prior to my MME, I had a Ford Flex and that sucker self parked! It was quite a site to behold. Do I wish I was better at parallel parking? Yes. But I'm not. And I'm old. And I don't really want to learn. So I'm thrilled the MME has the self parking feature.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Human perception is impressive, but it can also be flawed, inconsistent, and subject to all matters of psychological factors. Being distracted with thoughts of the milk you forgot to buy, or being under pressure because there's several cars behind you waiting for you to get into the spot -- these are all why having a feature like this is FANTASTIC!

Here's my personal pro-tip for those who still insist on parallel parking themselves: I tilt the side-view mirror on the curb side all the way down to the bottom so it helps me see the curb. I then save this as one of my saved seating preferences. When trying to back into a parallel spot, I just tap the #2 preference button and it gives me the view I need.

I use #2 for my parallel parking setup. #3 is my lean back and sleep in the car setting. ;)

Glad that worked. I had a terrible expirience the 1st and only time I tried it backing into a space. It wasn't tight or anything and keep going forward and back several times until it finally was centered and backing in. I would be embarrassed if there was a car waiting to get by while it did this. I have to experiment some more.

I have a new 2023 MME premium and have been when I have time getting comfortable with all the features. The other day I decided to try the APA. But all I get when I press the button is a tab that says navigate to parking and when I press that I just get a list of the nearest places that have parking spots. Does that mean I don't have APA?

Correct. The 2023's (and many 2022's) do not have this feature.

Thats what I figured. Not bothered really as its not a feature I would likely use very much. Wonder why they left the APA button in the car though given the feature is not there. Maybe it will be offered later as an option to add.

On the 2022's that lack the feature, there's supposedly going to be a module update available in the future to add the feature (cost unknown). Presumably it would also be available for the 2023's..........?

I think I read on another thread of some people getting a $325 credit on their invoice for the car not having this feature. Not sure how accurate that is but I would say most likely your right and it will be offered as an update later. Which also makes sense then as to why I have the APA button right there in the car even though it doesn't actually have the feature currently.

Yes, the 2022's that lacked the feature received that credit. But no one knows how much Ford will charge to add the feature back in. The 2023's didn't get the credit since the feature was not included in the product description for the 2023 models...

I really hope they offer that for 2023s at some point. I would really like to have those features. The price not being ridiculous of course.

Thanks for clearing that up. I likely would not bother adding the feature if it becomes available which I suspect it will be given the button for it was left in my 2023 Premium. But will be interesting to see if and when it does become available and at what cost. Just not something I would use very often myself but we will see what happens.

I suspect they will otherwise why leave the button in our 2023 MME's. What the price will be to add the feature well thats a whole other question. Will be interesting to see if and when the APA is made available and at what cost. I likely will not add it but I could be persuaded so we will see.
