My Take on Side Stripes

I wanted side stripes that were a little different than what @Murse-In-Airy put on his MME (which I like).

As you see, these have a Pony, they say mach-e, and they fade.

I installed them myself and did manage to make a few mistakes. However, I did a bunch of learning for next time.

Those are great. I seriously considered a cross hatching like that to fade them out as they got further back. But it would have required more knifeless tape than I had left. I’m going to have to show these to the wife. Thank You for sharing.

I worked with Rasa Ambrutiene ([email protected]). The process was pretty simple. I emailed them with a description of what I wanted while pointing them to one of their current offerings - https://autodesign.shop/collections...panel-side-stripes-for-ford-mustang-2005-2014. We worked from there to a couple of alternatives from which I selected the final product. For example, I had them prepare the stripes with and without the fading hash.

Rasa was very responsive and their designers helped create this style. Shipping was quick even though it was a bit expensive. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with their product.

I have no affiliation with Auto Design and get nothing for any recommendations. They do good work and I recommend them.

@Murse-In-Airy the cross hatching (fading) does not require any cutting - they come that way. You just have to be careful peeling the backing (one of the lessons I learned).

I had already ordered non-cross hatched stripes, so when I was considering it, I would have had to do it myself. Would have prevented me from having to make a splice in the stripes the way they were delivered, but I think I made a surprisingly good splice. All but invisible. So I’m happy. You did wonderfully too. Nice job finding someone willing to actually design for you.

Very nice! Do I see that you removed the factory badging? I took possession of mine a week ago and just noticed that that part of the badge had snapped off (as documented by others elsewhere). I was thinking maybe just remove those badges entirely and this looks like an excellent solution! Thanks for sharing!

@pdxzzr Thanks! Yes, I removed the badges. Unlike the experience that others have mentioned, mine were on pretty well. I had to work to get them off and then clean-up the residual tape. I got both off and cleaned without breaking them - just in case I want to mount them later.

I removed the badges because I wanted the stripes a little lower and, of course, the badges were in the way.

@MrRossKeys , I don't know if they can change the color since it is a cutout within the center stripe. Maybe they can make it with a bigger outline. It doesn't hurt to ask. The pony is much more visible in person.

That looks great. Nice job. These cars are starting to feel more and more like Mustangs
