My Take on Side Stripes

Really like this design but can not figure out what color would work with Infinite Blue! Silver? Gold? I know White would but not a fan.

Wish they had a green or maybe Sky Blue (like Grabber Blue).

I've always thought silver would look well with Infinite Blue. The catalogue sample is rich and deep with a slight metallic sheen to it. The gold is similar, aside from the color difference.

@stmache - please let me know what you decide and show us the pictures of the final result. FYI, my sister has an IB on order and after seeing my car, she wants a set of the stripes. However, she's also struggling with the color choice. I agree with @GW Shark that the silver might be the best if you don't like the white.

I have an appointment tomorrow to see about PPF & Ceramic Coating. If I go ahead with the PPF I was going to ask the installer to install the Stripes when they install the PPF.

I hope you find a good detailer. The first one I approached gave a price on the PPF kits and separated out labor. I went to the website of the PPF manufacturer and saw they sold kits to the public. His kit price quote was $450 more than the price to me from the website. When asked about the discrepancy he noted he could not use the ones I purchased from the site and they were for DYI'ers who would screw it up. Also his price quote for applying the stripes was $150, which I thought was excessive. At any rate, that detailer is off my list and I have found one of good repute who has quoted a price that is much more to my liking.

Stay subtle. Gloss finish black with matching hood stripes. You can't go wrong if you match the trim.

I was able to get PPF on the Full Front, Rocker Panels and on the Rear Bumper Area plus a Full Ceramic Coating but did not get the Stripes installed. The installer could not get parts of the stripes to stick so gave up with my permission. He checked at several Columbus installers who all said that they also were having issues with this type of stripes and suggested to use stripes that aren’t installed wet.

I‘m going to check with a Toledo location that do wraps and design stripes.

The installer could not get parts of the stripes to stick so gave up with my permission. I did my stripes and the wife’s stripes with VVIVID XPO film. I wet installed mine because I wasn’t very confident and wanted to be able to move them around. Not only was it tough to get them to stick but the knifeless tape also tended to slide the stripe a bit before it started cutting. So a lot of my cuts aren’t straight.
By the time I did the wife’s stripes I was feeling much more confident and did a dry install. Turned out to be a lot easier as the film stuck and cut so much better.

@MTNestr , I'm sorry to hear that your installer had trouble with the stripes. They are definitely a challenge to install since they have some fine lines which don't stick well with too much water on the car.

Well Put - that’s exactly the trouble the installer said - too many fine lines that wouldn’t stick. He actually had the driver’s side installed and couldn’t get it to stick on the passenger side.

But I’m not giving up on stripes.

@B25Nut , you're welcome and your MME looks great! The black from the stripes matches the black trim perfectly. I agree that these stripes dramatically affect (for the better) the side profile.
Your MME seems to have something else on the door? ;-)
