Just got an e-mail announcing delay and not even a new date !
Is this functionally the same adapter as sold on Amazon for ~$50 with next day delivery ?
Perhaps Farley should direct his Supply Chain to Amazon ?

That's likely an adapter for a destination charger (to J1772), not a high-speed supercharger (to CCS1).

I really don't know why Ford attaches a date to anything.

My experience from day 1 when I ordered this vehicle has been a series of delays.

Today, you're incorrect. You can get $300 - $500 for an adapter right now, new or used.

You mean for a Ford adapter? Sure. But I can't believe those are the prices for an A2Z adapter it takes two weeks to get.

How is it even possible that this is taking so long? It is not like Ford is selling a million EV's a year. How many of these things do they need to produce? Do they have one guy making these things by hand in Timbuktoo? Perhaps that same guy builds them and delivers each one personally via bicycle.

I can only assume that Elon, being the kind of guy he is, has decided he’s simply not going to provide the adaptors in any kind of reasonable quantity for reasons that only he knows. And Ford must not have had any teeth in the contract to force him to do otherwise.
For such a simple device, any other manufacturer of Tesla’s or Ford’s capacity would’ve ramped up production to tens of thousands of units per month by now. But, as far as we know, maybe 6500-7000 or so have actually shipped in the entire three months+ since shipments began.

Elon isn't that smart. No need to ascribe intention. It's just all incompetence. He fired the entire supercharger team. Because a woman dared to give a realistic assessment of the staffing needs of the team.

I’m sure the team firing has contributed to the delay, but it was pretty clear even before that happened that this was not a priority for Tesla.
