NACS Adapter delivery window delayed again

The only thing you know is it won't be September for most. They just changed all to September and figure they have 2 months before they have to tell everyone they were just kidding.

I have an October road trip planned through Montana so I guess I’ll buy the A2Z one. I’m assuming “September” just means “soon” now.

How is it even possible that this is taking so long? It is not like Ford is selling a million EV's a year. How many of these things do they need to produce? Do they have one guy making these things by hand in Timbuktoo? Perhaps that same guy builds them and delivers each one personally via bicycle.

problem is the same guy who’s 3d printing these is also manually typing in the VINs for the OTAs. So, if he speeds up production of adapters my OTAs will just be further delayed. Last OTA was March 6. I think I’d rather he spend more time on the OTAs.

Is there a chip that needs to be programmed into the adapter? I am trying to rationalize the reason for the hold up. Others already have started to make knock off adapters.

Living in Canada, I have came to the conclusion that I will never see the complimentary adapter. Looks like I will have to purchase one out of pocket.

Farley’s supply chain is Tesla. Tesla’s supply chain is their factory in Buffalo, per Bloomberg News. Too bad Tesla had more than a thousand folks fired there too during Elon’s meltdown.

My ~29900 order number got pushed from August to September. Sounds like Tesla made some promises and Ford plans on shipping a LOT of adapters in September... or Ford is just hoping Tesla gets their act together by September.

I hope Ford gets some kind of compensation for Elon's childish behavior. Feels like he's trying to delay Ford vehicles from using Tesla chargers.

No. There is no $50 adapter that works at a Tesla SuperCharger to my knowledge. There is the A2Z one ($193.50 with code FORDFORUM) and the Lectron one (which they recalled the initial version).

There are a couple of other no-name adapters but they are $200-250 as well.

Interestingly enough, while I wait for my delayed and then delayed again adapter several new CCS1 stations have gone online on my desired long routes. So while having the free Tesla adapter is nice and will still be useful I'm sure, waiting is becoming less onerous.

Ordered in March and now pushed to September from August?All good I know I can buy the A2Z but not in extreme need for super charging stations as the longest trip most recently was from San Diego to Harris Ranch. My longest ever was from San Diego to South Lake Tahoe in Lightning truck and I got there at 3%??
