Hopefully Ford switches to a different adapter supplier (such as A2Z) to help fulfill their customer orders. I've suggested this to them months ago. Tesla appears unable to fulfill their commitment and won't respond.

Blame Musk.

Is there a chip that needs to be programmed into the adapter? I am trying to rationalize the reason for the hold up. Others already have started to make knock off adapters.

No chip. It’s literally just carry-through bus bars from the Supercharger’s main pins to the DC pins of our charging ports. Aside from Elon’s tantrum-firing of Tesla’s charging team, there’s no known reason for the delay. And it was pretty clear before the firing/rehiring that the adaptors weren’t being made a priority.

Went to go check my order status.

My June delivery which was July when I last checked a week ago, has now been moved to September.

More annoyed that Ford didn't send an email letting me know.

I've had two for over a month. One from both companies that have them out right now. They are $200 or less. Just everyone buy the things and stop crying when you're driving such an expensive car.

-Once you are logged in, Click on the little person icon (red arrow), then click where it says your account (green arrow). Don't click on the Check Order Status on this page.

Then, at the top of the next page that comes up, you should see a link like this:

Click on that link to see your adapter order status.

Tom on State of Charge has a new video discussing the adapter shipping, or lack thereof, issue. He referred to an email Ford is said to have sent recently to people who’ve ordered the freebe. What he read seems to infer that Ford is looking for alternative sources, as mentioned by Mach-Lee above. Tesla is radio silent, par for the course for them.

My order 75,100 of March 21 still (unrealistically and optimistically) shows September. (What year?) I didn’t receive the email Tom referred to. I did order the Typhoon Pro and Stellar on July 2. I spoke to A2Z last week to check status. It will probably ship within the next couple of weeks. I suspect A2Z is struggling a bit with demand exceeding supply at the moment.

I bought one of the aftermarket adapters. However, I am still going to cry about the one that Ford said they would send me!

Has anyone used the Lectron adapter?

There's a discounted package from Lectron that includes the adapter and a 48amp charger for $519.00.

Useful thoughts on the value of this package would be greatly appreciated.

Around 120,000 I think. At least that was the largest order number I've seen posted so far.

Lots of folks are blaming Tesla. Apparently Ford had a deal for Tesla to produce them. Honestly, I don't know anything about that. Tesla didn't tell me they'd send me an adapter. Ford did. I'd be just as happy if Ford called up A2Z and ordered them from there.

Farley said in an interview he was waiting for Elon to send him the adapters. I believe Ford processes the orders. Tesla supplies them the adapter

That's nice. Farley didn't say that to me, and it certainly wasn't stated on the Ford webpage that encouraged me to sign up for the adapter, nor the page I actually signed up on. The only wordage that suggested responsibility was that Ford would send me the adapter.

As I stated earlier: Tesla didn't tell me they'd send me an adapter. Ford did.
